Hey Chukky44.... its pretty easy to get the your Canadian license. The letter will confirm that your license is authentic and state your driving record (whether it was suspended in the past or not and so on). Once you get that letter from the consulate, carry it to your nearest DriveTest center and you'll get an eye test done, picture taken and do your written test and once you pass you'll get your temporary g1 license until they mail the actual G1 LICENSE to you.

Here's a link to some G1 practice tests - http://www.g1.ca/g1-practice-test/

1. If you have had your Jamaican license for 4 years or more you can actually book your G2 exit test (Highway test) on the same day you did the written test. They may give you a date within 3 weeks to a month. So no moving on to g2 or one year wait for you.

2. If your license is younger than that then the one year wait will apply and you'll have to move up the ranks until you get your full G License
ok i have two year on my license plus one year international license

Thank you for the info. I have been drilling it in my husbands head that dates are important!!! He doesn't seem to think so but this confirms what I was saying to him. I hope they don't pass his passport back without his stamp, we will all be so heartbroken :(

Counting down the days now until the interview and it feels more stressful than waiting for THE call.

Chin up everyone, your time is coming very soon.

Hey even if they give his passport back don't feel disappointed that does not mean the worst. I was told they don't ask that many questions but the ones that they do you have to be confident on the dates. THEY WILL TRY TO MAKE YOU CONFUSED. But its there job to interrogate you. Don't worry everyone seems to have an interview these days I am not seeing anyone getting through this year without the interview. Good luck hubby has this!!!!!

Im sorry, im having a hard time figuring out where to do a new post. help!

Has anyone had to deal with getting a DNA test? Hubby is sponsoring his child. He was added to the birth certificate after the birth. Child has lived with father and his family her whole life. CIC has requested a DNA test and they are not cheap!

My hubby had to the DNA. We went with accu-metrics cause they were the cheapest. It took about six weeks in total from request and getting the results. but i contacted the company as soon as i got the request.
