Anyone been thru this or know how to deal with this?

All my documents are in my maiden name. The only thing that reflects married name is my banking info in Canada. My application, passport, is all in my old name. So I figure my COPR will be in my old name. I figure to make a smooth transition I should let my old name remain as is and after receiving card I do a name change with my marriage certificate. Question now tho is: should I be/ will I have to be walking around with my marriage certificate on a daily basis after landing in Canada? Anything that I am doing do I use my old name until I get a name change?

Im in thee same boat as you, I figure, just go through with PR process, get the corps land then from there i as the office when im gonna get my SIN and other documents. I dont see why we would need to walk with our marriage paper if or documents are reflecting our current name at the bank for anu processing you may have to do that i guess. I dont see any major problems with it so pose all ur questions to the agents when you arrive. you should be good.

I read on CIC that they mostly update once a week aminly on Tuesdays.... @ shortyp2000, good news that u have received correspondence on weedends also. Now I will check 100 times on weekends too lol.

Haha, sounds like you me and Roxie doin' the same. And glad its not only me needing to shed these winter weight pounds haha. I go thru spurts where i'll check eCas 100x a day and then I wont check it for a week. Im pretty sure they wont update again until after PPR but geez, my poor heart is just aching for some news!

Yes man..Shortyp, me u and Roxie, I am gonna try see if I can hold off checking ecas for a week. Lol. Working on my PR Body lol. He wont complain I am sure but I wanna be ready up....Lol. I dont even know why I am checking ecas so much anyhow as I am waiting on RCMP fingerprint checks and from what I am told, it takes a while. I working on getting it digitally done from the paper print I got here in Jamaica tho. That takes just 72 hours....But their (the accredited/approved canadian company to digitize the fingerprint) email to me to sign up forms to send to RCMP to release the fingerprints taking forever. I just called them about the email but somehow i am not getting thru. I will try back tomorrow.

Yep, RCMP can take up to 22 weeks if paper prinits, I read that FBI clearance timeline is similar. If I get it digitized then 3 days is a whole lot of time saving. So yep, fingers crossed. Thanks.
