If my husband is out of Jamaica, does the visa office allow passport to be mailed and returned to him for travel to Canada or will his physical presence be needed to drop off and pick up the passport.

Someone on here needed their husband to show that they had a stamp in their passport that they returned to Kingston so I am not sure.

When PPR comes the passports are sent in by DHL and returned that way. You use to be able to drop off and pick up at the High Commission but they don't allow that anymore....so in my opinion I don't see why not. This is something you need to to ask Kingston...if they will even answer you

Okay. I hope that would be an option...plane fare is already put aside just in case, but this process is costly enough. Thanks for your insight Sammy :) and Congrats on hearing something! The end is near for you :D

Ours has said Medicals Recevied since December 2013...so it has no bearing on any decisions being made. Ecas isn't always updated with medicals received so they may have just got around to adding it. You will change to "decision made' when they are ready to send the passport back. Once you see that start STALKING the DHL website!!

OK thank you Sammy!

Hi everyone!

Nice to find a Jamaican/Caribbean group on this website. I am not apart of a spousal application per say. My husband who is applying for PR has recently added me to his PR application so hopefully we will both land soon. Kingston office requested my landing fees and medicals last month which I did while in Jamaica on our honeymoon. Anyone knows typically how soon after medical and landing fee request until they ask for our passports? He applied under FSW for permanent residence. Thanks for your help and continue to support each other !

Hello and welcome!!!

The request can come at anytime after you've submitted what they have requested. I am not sure how FSW works but I am pretty sure it is the same as family class for Passpoprt Request.

Good morning everyone!!! So my ECAS was updated yesterday showing that the medical results were recieved. When looking at the chart in shows medical results in the decision made category!! But we still say in process. Do you think there is an issue with the medical or am I just overthinking and getting ahead of myself. Waiting this past couple weeks has been worse than waiting the 15 months lol so close yet so far away!!!!! Hope everyone has had a good week, and safe travel to those going to visit hubby's!!!!!! :)

Thanks girl and hope you will have good news very soon! I want to update your line on the spreadsheet when Im back from vacation ! :)

I am enjoying seeing all this positive energy!

Keep it going everyone because Kingston can't hold your passports forever, whether it be for the good or the bad!

"May the odds be ever in your favour!"
