Do you know what form it is? Does it have IMM and some numbers on it?

Says "Confirmation of permanent residence"

My husband got that too. those papers you need to land in Canada but they are saying it is not the VISA so you need your passport and the COPR to be able to land in Canada and cannot use that paper to travel anywhere else.

I figured it was something like that. Thank u for the info!!!

Heath insurance all depends on where you live. In Ontario he has to wait 3 months to get his ohip card. You can apply for it when he lands though. If you have benefits through work you can add him to that though. My husband is on mine at work and he isn't even here yet.

ya i was talking about the health insurance I purchase for myself. My mom worked for AB health care so she is on that.

**FYI*** My mother who worked for alberta health care for over 30 years here is how it works when your man gets here:

She just said for ABHC (ALBERTA HEALTH CARE) you can go on alberta health care's website, download the notice of change - Addition: To Update and/or add Family Member form (AHC2211) complete and print it. (Here is the link to the form as well if it works: http://www.health.alberta.ca/documents/AHCIP-form-AHC2212.pdf ) Attach the required documents (The COPR & Passport. Photocopy the page with the photograph and the entry stamp). Then you can either submit it by e-mail to ALBERTA HEALTH or you can go to the REGISTRY OFFICE or if you are a member of AMA you can go to AMA. AMA will only process it for their members. If everything is in order they will register you right away at the offices but you will not get a card that day.. They will mail it to you. Some offices will provide you with your health care number. If they do not find out when it will be processed. Once it is processed you can call Alberta Health at 427-1432 and they will provide you with your number while you wait for your card. ***

I just called RBC to ask questions. The deal for FREE IPAD MINI ends in July.

more importantly to star the process of them getting the credit card and open an account they can CALL RBC at 1-866-811-0997 and give them all the info needed to start an account and then make an appointment to go in and just show the documents that were needed (passport and landing papers or permanent resident card, identification numbers) and sign the contract to finish the process!

Pretty accommodating!

Hi Guys

just for my reference I was wondering

did your spouse get a call or email, if it was mailed did it have the big incriminating immigration information on it so everyone in the post office will know that someone is sponsoring you and then they will go and run off dem mouth cuz dem nuh knoe how fi keep it shut?

When they redo the medical is it the whole thing which is another $200 cnd and the PC which is another $100 cnd ?

thanks

The will either call or email. The past little while they have been emailing.

If you need to redo your medicals or PC, yes you will need to pay for them again. If Kingston extends your medical then you won't need to pay. They can't extend PC's though.

I got e-mails as well and hubby always got his correspondence in snail mail. so annoying. On the form you fill out they tell you if you provide e-mail that is giving them permission to use it for ALL correspondence and then they didn't use it. RUDE.
:P

CAR INSURANCE QUESTION

Does or did anyone's car insurance take into consideration their spouses driving experience from foreign when calculating their premiums.
