Hi Everyone,
I have been with my husband for 7 years but we've only been married since March 2013. We were both 16 when we started dating and have only been independent for about a year now. We have never lived together or shared any real assets together since we were both dependents and living with our parents ( we bought and exchanged gifts though). My application was received by CIC on Sept. 27 2013 and I was approved for sponsorship on Oct. 25. Since then I didn't get any feed back from anyone.I doubled back and checked through the papers before I mailed them to make sure all questions were answered or have N/A on them. I have a couple questions regarding my application:
1. Is it true that if I forgot to place N/A as an answer to any of the questions that don't apply to me, that the High Commission WILL mail it back to me for re-submission? or is this a "MIGHT?"
2.I sent phone records, wedding photos and other misc. photos throughout our relationship as proof of a ligit relationship but in my opinion the picture quality isn't good. Can this affect the decision?
3.When my Dad sponsored me to Canada in 2012 I put "single" as my relationship status because (between married, engaged, common law, conjugal) it was the most suitable option there. Will that conflict with the information that I have provided in my application and cause issues?
4. Will my application status change to "in process" before they review it and find something wrong or will it stay at "application recieved" if they do?
5.If everything is a ok with my application around what time should I be hearing from them?

Hi CeCe La Belle,

You found your way over. Sit back relax and enjoy the ride. Popcorn and refreshments will be served shortly and our knowledgeable team will be by to help you with any questions or concerns you may have.

In response to your question you are right on track...Kingston does not send AORs. If you haven't already you can send them an email asking if they have received your file.

At present the processing time is 22 months for Stage 2. Kingston is far from being consistent. If you scroll back a few pages and find a member by the name of Chickie72, under her time ticker there is a link to a spread sheet of the total processing time of some of the cases that have come through this forum.

Please feel free to ask as many questions as you want ;D

Remain positive...you may be the lucky few that are processed within 6-8 months.

Just know that we are all here to help, to vent to, and to make sense of a process that does not make sense at all.

You will find unconventional ways to make the fire keep burning. I have been in this process almost 2 years now.

Thanks, it means alot.

Thanks! Some days are easier than others. I just know that it won't be forever. Plus, this time apart is strengthening our communication skills and how we deal with issues in our lives and marriage.

This is the time to set the foundation in place. Take the positive with the negative and try to look for the bright side of all situations in life.

Interesting that you bring this topic to light. I am currently taking a course called Race, Ethnicity, and Justice in Canada. These two videos hit the nail on the head. Canada has been far from accommodating with their immigration practices and policies since and before Confederation. More Canadians and New Canadians should be educated on the discriminatory practices and policies that are in place to "control" their admission into this country.

If you like I can send you some articles that elaborate more on how the current Skilled Workers Program is the new form of Indentured Servitude.

Lol! @ RRRRRRR!!!!

Believe me if it were not for prayer, faith, and this forum I may have lost it a few times.

As I have said and will continue to say God is not ready for us yet. Our season has not come and when it does it will be glorious. Until then..we wait, we water, we nurture and tend to our marriage the best way we can under these circumstances.

We have some good news on our application...

We get a passport request today in the mail along with my wife needing to redo her police record... :)
