Hi everyone... not a good day for me. Got my notes back - I will hit the 9 month mark this week, and my file inexplicably been transferred back to registry by the assigned IO. Anyone ever heard of this? None of the statuses started, so essentially my file is in the same place and at the same stage as it was when it arrived in Kingston in April.

Also, met with my mp, who agreed to do a second letter for us... but he was also clear to remind me that the canadian government has to "look out" for canadians who enter into relationships with carribbeans!

I try everyday to be strong and positive, but I've hit a wall. Feel betrayed by our own government. What do I tell my children, they ask everyday about when their step dad is coming home?

Hoping and praying for good news for everyone waiting much longer than me...

One more question... my police and medicals expire in January, mp's office says Kingstin told them that we should NOT redo either, unless we hear from them... what would you do? I dont want to cause any further dealy by waiting around for Kingston.

Sorry that your notes did not have anything in them. I understand because my notes also have no movement in them. None of my checks have been started etc.

Regarding the police and medicals, it is really up to you to decide what you want to do. Some people decide to go ahead and redo them on their own, and some people wait for Kingston because there is always a chance that your medicals can be extended.

My husband and I personally, sent an email to Kingston to ask if we should re-do medicals and they told us not to re-do until they ask us to. But we did decide to re-do the criminal check because it costs less money and we honestly just wanted to be doing something. So my husband re did it and took it to the embassy to have it added to his file.

Also, someone else should add to this because is there a new system where if you are getting a remedical you need a paper from Kingston to do it? Not too sure.

Registry is the location that your file lands in Kingston upon it's arrival. It's the first stop for all files before being assigned to someone. So basically her notes are saying that she has been sent back to Kingston beginning.

I've personally not heard of this, but perhaps others have... So odd.

Mrs. Davis, I just received my notes (ordered after 5 months) because I wanted to see if mine was out of registry. My notes have indicated that it has been assigned and the medical check has been started. Everything else is "not started".

And I noticed that we have the same filed date, so we're working on the same timeline!!! If you want to order them, don't be afraid... they're computer generated, so they wouldn't have to pull your file for any reason and drop it to the bottom. It's all good!!!

Lol. I was actually considering sending updated proof of on going communication . I knew nothing about this process or proof so I've also since gone through my travel agent ( n best friend's ) files and pulled all my travel receipts . Figured it wouldn't hurt to send . I thought of sending this info then following up with notes a month later . Also, my husband couldn't get his son's mother to agree to the medical . Since applying , she has agreed so we're waiting for the passport to get the medical. Sorry for the long story lol

No, no. I love hearing other people's stuff. It's good for comparison purposes. I would say that regardless if you want to order notes now or not, for sure order them after submitting the additional information to ensure it was received!

I know that hubby and I have accumulated much more proof since realizing how much we actually need! So if he gets an interview call, he will be bringing those with him.

Sometimes......very rare cases.......applications get put back into the registry if they feel that you are trying to fast track your own application. This can be because you email too often, contact your mp too often, or re-do things before they are asked for. It is not fair but basically as I have said before, Kingston has our lives in their hands and we just have to go with the flow of how they process. There is no reason why one person's application should be completed before another's application and by trying to "fast track it" in their eyes this is wrong and you need to wait in line like everyone else. I am not 100% sure this is what has happened in this case but I do know of another person this has happened to so that is why I am able to tell of the experience.
