I have set up a special scotia acct that i can withdraw from but not deposit. I e-transer any money from my td canada trust to my scotia acct while im down there and withdraw at any scotia machine. it doesnt cost any money to do this (no fees)

i know CIBC is down there now and also RBC

i was wondering.......when i come to canada and open a bank account there....which i going to get a scotia account when i get there.. i want to know is you can just transfer money from one account to the next out here in jamaica so when i come to back to jamaica i will have money to spend........or i cant do it like that.........i have a scotia bank account out here in jamaica so im wonder if that can work

Thanks to everyone for the congrats, it was a really awesome wedding day and I am so happy to finally be married.....believe me, that has been a crazy long process being that I had to get divorced back home first! Hoping that the marriage certificate doesn't take too long to get - supposed to be in hubby's hands by Friday of this week!

You probably can - it might just take a bit.
If you open a scotia acct in canada... and get 2 debit cards ( one for you and one for your wife) then you can withdraw down there. If you want someone to withdraw in JA then just send them one of the debit cards.

then just get a joint account no need to transfer it to Jamaca.. Just make it a savings acct or a low cost chequing acct.
