RFMO,

I kw the kind of day that you are having and boy .. do I hate them. This too shall pass. Just let him kw that nothing has change. It's still you and him in this together and you have faith that it will all be resolve soon and the end result will be him being here in Canada with you. Let him kw that you obsess about the interview enough for both of you and you just need him to concentrate on surviving and staying safe in Ja. Then you read a book or watch a movie and ignore reality for a little bit.

Tough times never last, tough people do. This too shall pass

I wish there was a "love button"!!

Hello ladies! Just wondering, since my approval of sponsorship for hubby in June, I haven't heard any news back. The letter said hubby's application for permanent residence was sent to kingston. I haven't received any aknowledgment of receipt from Kingston. Should I be worried?

should not be worried as Kingston rarely sends out an AOR (acknowledgement of receipt) and it's likely that you won't hear anything until they need something from you. SO hang in there, you will soon start receiving news!

Charlie, this question is directed for you...does Kingston call for passports over the weekend, or during business hours only???

They have been known to call in early hours (before 9 a.m.) and later afternoon (after 5 p.m.) on business days but never on weekends. Their hours seem to be flexible enough if they tried to reach someone during the day and were unsuccessful, I have heard of them trying after normal working hours or before (because not everyone can answer cell phones during their work day, and they seem to understand that.)

End of another weekend full work week for kingston hoping for some news

Another question.. Is there an income requirement for sponsoring a spouse whose bringing a dependant child. I have one boy from a previous relationship and he does as well. So there will be 4 of us. I work as a full time nurse, and provided proof of income/job.

As long as the dependent children have no children of their own, and are being sponsored as accompanying dependents of a spouse, there is no requirement to meet the Low-Income Cut-Off point. However, with that said, it is still good to show proof of income and proof of your spouse's ability to become self-supporting and to care for their own dependent's needs, to overcome any Section A39 concerns.

Happy Monday everyone! Here's to hoping Kingston smiles on us this week!

This process is brutal!

Hello all....I am new to this forum and its a relief to see I am not going through this process alone :)

After submitting my application in August, I just received notification that I have been approved as a sponsor and my hubby's application will be sent to the office in Kingston.....I am just worried about that 16 months turnaround time I have been see.

I am just wondering if anyone had applied either late last year or early this year and have already gotten through...I am looking for a spark of hope (cant do that 16 months). Baby and I are missing daddy :)

Thanks!!

Welcome Keke!

If you go back to the previous page you will see the spreadsheet for Kingston with the timelines for the people that are part of the forum. Congrats on getting your sponsorship approval!
