Good afternoon ladies......

I have a question. When submitting the application, what documents NEED to be the original copy? I am thinking it is just the birth certificates but not sure about marriage license

and if you send in marriage license do you send in short form or long form?

Afternoon!

Originals pertain to the applicant's police clearance certificate and the medical examination form only, actually, based on what is in the Caribbean Regional Guide. You may submit copies of your marriage certificate and birth certificates, however, KG will request to see the originals later on (usually when they issue the PPR they ask to see the original certificates as well). What some of us have done is get extras and submit the originals to eliminate the necessity of submitting them later on for KG to peruse/verify.

Can you get a another original birth certificate? Also as to the marriage certificate does it need to be the long or short form? Will you get the originals back?

Yes, the Registrar General's Department in Jamaica issues as many copies as you pay for and can wait for. For the sponsor it needs to be the long form, I believe. For the Jamaican there is only one official form, so that is what is required. Originals are returned by KG, yes, I submitted mine with our application as we had multiples of my BC and our MC, and KG returned them when I got my visa.

Hi Ladies. Hope your week has been off to a fantastic start!!! Charlie, I only know of one MC form. There's a long/short form?

No no. Long form was in reference to the Canadian birth certificate copy which must be submitted by those sponsors born in Canada. The MC in Jamaica has only one form as well, quite similar to the birth certificate.

Hello Ladies!

Hanging in there...hoping things will pick up again soon in Kingston! I want to book another trip to visit hubby, but trying to wait it out at least till December and see what happens...praying he will be here before then!

KINGSTON CAN YOU HEAR ME??? NEXXXXXXXXXXTTTT!!

Chickie mentioned 2x long/short form marriage certificate in her previous messages so I thought you could firm that up as I only know of one format.

In Canada, you can get 2 different copies of your marriage certificate (this i know because I ordered both) One is a short one that actually looks like a certificate and the other (long one) is a certified copy of the marriage license that you signed at the church when you got married.
