Job Offer........
Pre-Assessed..
Hi Guys. I sent my application on Jun 7th and my AOR is Sep 15th, the background verification was marked as complete on Nov 5th. Looking at trends, I am expecting the citizenship process to be completed by maybe June 2022.

Recently I am accepted a job offer from the Middle East which is tax free. I met a foreign tax consultant last week who told me that I need to become a "non-resident for tax purpose" to avoid paying taxes to CRA. The requirements for becoming a "non-resident for tax purpose" are straight forward but I asked the tax consultant if it can impact my citizenship application adversely to which he said no.
I just wanted some feedback from you guys. Obviously I will be notifying CIC about the change of address and stuff, but I would appreciate if you guys can share your opinion on this.

Thanks in advance.

It will not impact your citizenship in any way , to apply for citizenship They are already checking or checked that for the previous years before you applied

If i may ask , did the consultant recommended you cancel your driver license and bank account also or he said it is ok to keep them?

Thanks mate. The consultant told me that I just need to rent out my home and take my family with me to become a non resident for tax purpose. Since I am paying my mortgage, he said there is no need to close my bank account. regarding other stuff, he said the following:

Credit cards: No need to surrender, but preferable
Driving License: No need to surrender, it automatically wont get renewed after the expiry date
OHIP: No need to surrender, it automatically wont get renewed once we stay out of Ontario for more than 6 months
Storage for furniture: No issues renting storage
Car: Either sell or end lease

I first I was a bit skeptical about this advice since this sounds too good to be true. But the consultant was recommended by a friend who has been using his services for more than 30 years now. Also, the tax consultant has more than 3000 clients in GTA with most of his clients in the Middle East.

Hope this helps.

Thank you bud!
I am just hoping my personal and ID pictures captured are accepted although they were clear when I captured.
Fingers crossed

hey guys, hope everyone is doing well. I am reading the instruction letter for the citizenship test and it states: To take the online test you will need:  A photo identification (ID)with your signature on it, such as o your permanent resident (PR) card (even if it’s expired) or o a valid government issued photo ID.
This is a contradiction because my PR card doesn't have any signature on it. Should I use my drivers license to be on the safe side?
Can anyone that has done the test share their experience with this please!
Thank you

I was confused as well.
I took test few days ago. I could have used my DL but I thought of using PR card as stated.
