I dont know what takes them so long to process even the straight forward files. Its so annoying that not even pre arrival is issued and its been almost 3 months since the processing status got updated

TIME LINE for CITIZEN sponsoring wife in India

I submitted my application to my lawyer on June 2nd. Next day he sent to the IRCC office

Application received June 10, 2019.
IRCC sent my lawyer the AOR email on July 31st that application was received on June 10th
Biometrics and Medical requested Aug 8th
Sponsor approval email to Aug 12
Medical exam and biometrics done Aug 21, Aug 22nd respectively
Medical results received updated on ECAS on Sept 3rd
No additional documents and no Interview requested

Passport request email from Mississauga sent to my lawyer on sent Sept 20
.
So basically From june 10 , 2019 to Sep 20 2019 !! 113 days

Please note

- I dint have access to GCkey . I only used https://services3.cic.gc.ca/ecas/introduction.do?app=ecas by using my UCI number and personal info

- I did not bother my lawyer asking where my files is ( whether in Missisauga or Delhi ), and all that. It was a super quiet process. I have only 7 emails from him till now J

I know 99% of this group members chose to submit papers by themselves. You all are superheroes I must say. I was planning to submit papers by myself but then my work schedule changed and made it nearly impossible to do it by myself. So I chose to hire a lawyer. I must say hiring the lawyer was the best decision. He made my life easier. If you have plenty time to spare and patience, you can apply by yourself . J

- My wife or myself did not receive any emails from IRCC and all emails were directed to my lawyer

BELOW you can see all update I got on Client Application Status website by using my UCI number and personal info

If someone can please assist me on this:

I have got my stamped PR visa and will be making my first landing in few days. Can I get married at this point of time? If yes, do I need to inform CIC about the same? Will it affect my PR? Or is it better to come back to home country after receiving PR card from Canada and then start sponsorship for spouse?
Thanks.

I do not know the definitive answer but there is a thread here on this:
https://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/threads/marriage-before-landing-in-canada.525212/
My understanding only is that if before landing, you MUST advise and add to your application. I do not know how long this may take.

If you do not do so before, you would have to sponsor using sponsorship process.

But please check and read carefully.

It may help if you specify under which program you got your approval - and the answer may be better found in forums here on those programs, at least if you want to add to your application. This is a pretty big decision, you seem to imply you might be landing in a few days, please research.

If after landing, obviously timing issues are different but processing too.
