Well, tried to call a couple times and couldn’t reach an agent, took the desperate measure and mailed Ralph and got an answer, although not sure how to feel about it.

Dear Dan - I spoke to IRCC regarding your application received June 8, 2018. It is at CIO Sydney.

Standard processing time is 6 months. This means 80% of routine applications are completed within that time frame, while 20% take longer.

Eligibility is in process.
Criminality passed Oct 16, 2018.
Security have not been initiated. They cannot be expedited and timelines are not available.

Medicals are valid until June 4, 2019.
—————-

The rest of my timeline is in my signature, so well, seems like I will be the one waving at you from outside the plane. :( Time to take a break.
Hola!
I'm in the exact same boat as you.
AOR June 17th
Eligibility is in progress
Criminality passed (ip2 Oct. 25)
Security not started

:( Guess we just have to be patient

All these days I was counting you among one of our approved but no ppr cases. I really don't know what to say... Why is eligibility still in process? Have you ordered gcms?

Got a reply back from MP Ralph’s office..same thing which the agent told me few days ago when I called him..application approved on Oct 26, no PPR email.
The only new thing I got to know which I didn’t ask the agent last time was that unfortunately like most of us my application is also stuck at Central Intake Office Sydney..don’t know when this wait will be over.
Did you got the ghost update? I doubt the ghost update is a indicator of being approved.

No, no gcms, maybe they are saving the best for last ;):D.... seriously speaking I don’t really know, it could be for a couple reasons, but nothing too determining...

from the top of my head, I raised a couple CSE, one for POF because I was having trouble getting the official letter from the bank and only uploaded 6 months of statements, later I was able to get the letter and uploaded through a CSE, and another one because I completely forgot about a US visa tourist refusal, it is very common for venezuelans since they feel we all want to move there illegally and it’s nonsense in my case since I had a tourist visa for like 28 years prior to that, and even a J1 (student visa) for a year, but anyway I didn’t give it much importance so well, I forgot and answered No on the statutory questions and raised the CSE to make them aware of my mistake (no ADE requested for schedule A though).

Other than that, hard to say... it’s not because of my country since another venezuelan is on this thread and his application is already approved, maybe travel history although not too extensive nor countries under alert that I know of, the rest of my application is pretty straightforward, nice IELTS, one job with 7 years of experience, recognized institution on ECA, one non accompanying dependent.

Most visa refusal cases (Stat answer Yes) are marked as "Review Required" by analysts. Could be the reason for review required.

If so, then I’m sure everything will be alright. What I find odd is that I’ve seen mail replies with “in process - review required”, mine just says in process

Ralph's people get information by calling IRCC. May be they have better luck in terms of reaching the agents. BUT that's where it ends. Post that the quality of information is dependent on the agent answering the call. And as we know that is a big variable. Some agents may be giving them more details and hence they write it more clearly. And some may be answering "In Progress". I don't expect Ralph's people to probe it any further after the question has been answered.

I think I posted before also .. "In progress" can mean your file was recommended passed and VO office changed and hence status was reset, It could mean it is in progress because of review required. It could mean it is in progress because no one has even looked at eligibility. Only sure way of knowing is ordering GCMS notes.

Cansha, A quick question..my brothers profile has the eligibility status as "We are reviewing whether you meet the eligibility requirements".

Is this anything to concern about? He is traveling to India dec 1st week ..we are worried if the approval doesn't come by then.

That status means nothing. The status will remain the same till the day they send COPR.
