Your application now has a progress bar. The progress bar shows the time elapsed since we received your application. It gives you an estimated completion date based on our latest processing times.

Take a look and tell us what you think.

When I click on the hyperlinked 'let us know what you think', this survey pops up. The only progress bar I see so far is the one on top of the survey (starting at 10%) :P :

Progress 10%

In December 2018, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) added a progress bar for Express Entry applications. It uses our processing time to give you an estimate for how long it may take us to process your application.

IRCC would like to invite you to complete a short survey on the progress bar.

Your participation is important, as it will be used to inform next steps on how IRCC can improve upon this service in the future. Please give your honest opinion. This survey will take approximately 5 minutes to complete.

The identity of those participating in this survey will remain strictly confidential. As well, the responses provided by the respondents are reported as aggregate data only.

Thank you for your participation, and we look forward to hearing from you!

Please understand that your participation in this survey will have no impact on the outcome if you have submitted or decide to submit an application for Express Entry.

Progress bar is available now
Interestingly enough, there seems to be some movement on my application.

I had indicated my husband as a representative ages ago, around 11 July 2018, if I'm not wrong (damn this crazy, never-ending list of application-related dates!). But, he was not getting any mails in his account. Now, all of a sudden, the progress bar email has landed up in his account. Technically, all mails coming in should have been received into his account, as my appointed representative.

Hmmmm... @Prashant86_2000, @cansha, and other active members who've been sharing their insights, any views on why this development of a sudden?

Spoke to an agent (Note: am in Canada MT) yesterday and was informed the progress bar would be out by 12pm...
She also told me that she doesn't know its effect on people past the processing time (6 months)
Make as much as you will with that information.

Well Well.. guess she was right progress bar up at 12pm

Yes we do have 6 months for our medicals to expire :)

Thanks Prashanth.
I will wait for their response and I hope the 30 day period re-starts or else we are in serious trouble.

Regards
Kanchan.

Don't worry you should be good. :)

I won't read too much in to it. It possibly means nothing.

Got the mail for progress bar but there is no progress bar in application. Filled their survey and chose I don't see progress bar.
Hmmm...let me go ahead and do the same. Can't see the progress bar now cuz the application has gone into a loop, I keep being redirected to the CIC homepage when I try to login. But, couldn't see the progress bar in any case even when I tried twice earlier...

You're the first to get this mail. Keep checking

Now the real race begins, not about the number of pages in the forum but what will show up first, the bar lr the PPR :D (got the mail too btw, I guess at least that batch is working )

NO, where there is light, there is no ghost...so no enlightenment. :p

However if you are looking to get educated instead....

After your background check is marked in progress (iP2), if you login to your CIC account and see that the status on your eAPR application shows "updated" but when you see inside, nothing changes. We call it a Ghost update.

Apparently, when the immigration officer gives final approval to your case file the application gets updated at their end but nothing changes on ours. But the system intimates the applicant.

Makes me think, if it is a bug, they forgot to fix. ;)
It's a bug they never knew of...

Could be...I did get that random 'How to get a job in Canada' letter on 23 July 2018, and my notes showed it had nothing to do with movement on my account. This just might be another random event - but its always good to know that an action has taken effect, re the Use of Representative form I painstakingly filled and sent it, has been duly actioned. My husband, who checks his mails more often, is now responsible for tracking the PPR application status ;) Thanks guys, it's been good knowing you...I'm off now :P
