Congrats on your AOR ssparkles ! Why was your case rejected last time ?

Thanks Yosemite! The last time they said they weren't satisfied with my job description as it didn't match the noc code description. (It probably didn't match word to word as on the website as the letter was provided by the employer). But if I knew I had to copy their description I would've! They could've asked me to verify it instead of just flatly refusing. They are not lenient at all, that's what I feel.

Duties have to match at least 80% of the NOC description. However one should not simply copy word for word the NOC description as, according to some lawyers, it might trigger the officer to give the application a special, not necessarily positive, attention...

Yea I learnt of the 80% match after the refusal. It matched a lot but I suppose it wasn't 80% even though it could've easily been. Its just what the employer chose to write in the bullet points and I didn't press on the 80% match coz i didn't know at the time. I was just looking for a general job description.

I re-applied with the 80% match but don't know how the earlier refusal will effect the new application.

Yes, this earlier refusal issue is concerning. In the past my FSW application got rejected because of a NOC code mismatch.
Sometimes I have been told that having been rejected previously can be detrimental, other times people said it does not matter...

Would be interesting to have the opinion of the senior members about that...

I am worried too cos my employer didn't state my job duties in detail. She gave a brief description and tried to convince me by saying that as a nurse, I am good to go because everybody knows the duties of nurses. I just hope they wont reject me because of that.

As a nurse I think you have a better shot. Everyone does know what a nurse does, but at the same time this is immigration. If they have guidelines to meet where they have to accept 80% of the stated nurse's job description as satisfactory then what you or I consider okay may not matter at all.

It's also very case specific. As noidea4id said, it would be good to get some views from senior members.

The more professional your credentials are I would think you would have less trouble in them nit picking on your application. Just a thought. Hope it goes smoothly ujbaby. Good Luck!

Thanx Sparkles. Yeah i can unstand what u mean and i thought as much. what i did was to print out the main duties of nurses from my company's website and attached with what my employer provided and included a written explanation. I am still waiting for AOR and i am scared because all august applicants already got theirs. I pray that all went well. I am now currently working full time in newbrunswick and if worse comes to worst, i will apply under a provincial nominee program after six months. Good luck to all of us!!!

Hey everyone,

I have not checked my mailbox yet (different from my living address so i check it during weekend), but now i am able to see my status shown as "Application Received" on CIC using my UCI.....

I guess this marks my end of first waiting period... sigh..

hearing that someone applied under NOC2173 (software engineer) already received med request, i know i am left behind already. i am also applying under the same code. but news is news, it is moving.

good luck to everyone.

Congrats uing and cyy8913 on your AOR :) Good news for sure!
