If you want to, you can (peace of mind) ; mine wasn't as helpful, but some MP's are super nice and actually help out. I would say reaching out and asking isn't a bad move at all. But also be mentally prepared for them to give you the same information that you already have.
When I contacted my MP, the person who reached out to the officer only gave me the information about the background check, mentioning that I passed the criminal check and my security background check hasn't started yet. Other than that, she did'nt provide anything. Hope it works out for you.
