Background check still not completed, only in the comments they said Finger Prints received on 1st December and this information came on 4th December

Nov 27: LLP completed for me, Language and Presence completed for my partner.
Dec 2: Fingerprint of my partner received (she made the fingerprint on Nov 2nd and RCMP sent the fingerprint on Nov 7th, we were a bit nervous with the Canada Post strike)
Dec 3: Background check completed for my partner

@hssrp or anyone else - Got a ghost update today, but LPP is still in progress and Oath Ceremony is still reflecting as not started. Any idea what that means?
I had also requested for Notes on Nov 20th. Could it be related to that?

@hssrp,I have a no problem to get new Canadian passport .As per my knowledge ,problem is in to get surrender certificate of Indian passport then apply and get E visa for india.its ( surrender Indian passport) takes more than one month so I will complete hopefully this process till January 15 ,2025 if Canada Post strike open so I am asking what I have to do.pls suggest.thanx all

@hssrp,I have a no problem to get new Canadian passport .As per my knowledge ,problem is in to get surrender certificate of Indian passport then apply and get E visa for india.its ( surrender Indian passport) takes more than one month so I will complete hopefully this process till January 15 ,2025 if Canada Post strike open so I am asking what I have to do.pls suggest.thanx all

You do not need to surrender Indian passport to apply for e-Visa. Once you get Canadian Passport or even take up oath it is safe to not use Indian passport for travel.

I just call them ,ask them because I'm going to India December 9 ,they told me to send web form if moer then 60 days ,they give you another chance for oath agant told me ,no worries

In My case they received my Finger Prints but security is not complete ,is in progress ,they doing security screening, is can take 20 days to 75 days thanks

It can be related to any verifications related to Phys Presence. Sometimes they migh also send a request for passport scan.

Like I said before, once you get Canadian passport in urgent.express, you can immediately apply for e-visa and get it in 1-4 days. You can apply for surrender of Indian passport here or you can surrender it in India. You do not need the surrender certificate for e-visa. Please make sure you ONLY use your Canadian passport when you travel and DO NOT take out Indian passport anywhere (except in the Indian RPO when you go there for surrender, if you do it in India).

You say that we can surrender Indian Passport in India. Just for my knowledge, can we also apply for OCI from within India? Also, till the time one does not gets OCI, can one work in India?

In India FRRO offices deals in India to issue OCI card .so no problem in India to apply and get OCI.same process.i got my son OCI card in India.
