Just checked and my e-CAS has been updated with the test invite for Nov 16th. Didn't get any email notice for the test. Will have to wait for the hard copy.
Hey,
Congrats! It took me 4 business days to get the mail delivered to my mail box. Couple more days, you should see it. BTW, we both have test on same day, different locations though. Good luck!

I have a question for the people in this group: finger print requests: if required, are always before the test or it can also be after the test?

It's more common to get one before the test invite, but it has happened both ways.

Wow, back in 2015, it use to be 10 days to get a new one. Thanks for the info. I'll talk to an agent and see if I they have any objection if I were to decide not to apply for one now. I really do not have any plans to travel until next summer, out side the country. I am just hoping I can avoid some paper work if it is not a requirement for the citizenship process. Will post here if I receive an answer from CIC.
Are you sure it was 10 days to renew a PR card in 2015? I got mine done in 2015 and it was close to 6 months. The estimated waits were close to 200 days on the CIC official website.

I would say not worth applying. I am already so fed up with all the fees for immigration-related stuff this year- $650 for citizenship (+$50 for mailing/photos), another $50 for PR renewal (+$50 for photos/mailing), once all this is done another $120 for a passport (and potentially new photos and whatever else)...Holy! Next thing I'll have to sell the shirt off my back to pay to be a Canadian!

I remember one of my relatives mentioning that she got her PR renewed in 10 days (December 2015) and was very excited about that as she planned a trip to her birth country for the Holidays. I guess she got lucky back then..

Lol, I am not in a state mentally to apply for a PR card. I know it is relatively less paper work and all but tired of filling forms.

First of all, congratulations! I was wondering about the stamps being in different language but dates being clear numericals in western format and glad to see your note above. I should really start studying..
Yeah they are more concerned with dates. As long as they are legible, you should be ok. They usually ask for stamp translations when dates are in arabic/farsi and/or use non-standard calendar (hijri, lunar).
Thanks! I feel relieved! For the first time in 3 months, I will not be doing any practice tests or reading tonight! Good luck with you test! They mentioned that they are moving to a new building next week so I assume your test area will be much more fancy than what we had today.

Has the spreadsheet been written over by October applicants? I open the link from the beginning of the thread and see October there.
A week after passing the test over here and waiting on DM.

Folks, I am on my bus, just got out of my test.
Test: passed 20/20. But I cannot say it was easy. There were questions asking very specific details so if I had not read the study guide book 3 times carefully, I would not have known. There were quite a few fails by the way, so some people left right away.
Interview: very straightforward. They just confirm if the info on the application is still valid: do you still work at XYZ? (I said yes and showed my government employee ID);do you still live at XYZ? Do you live alone? Do you have business trips outside Canada? So you mostly travel to countries XYZ?
Then the interviewer started carefully going through my passport stamps and this is when I proudly put on the table my latest masterpiece - printed tickets for all travel with boarding passes that I have been collecting all these years! He was very impressed and praised me for being organized.
At the end he said I met all requirements, so to wait for oath invite by mail in 1-2 months.
Ask me anything you want :)
Congrats Katayoon ! you are on the last step to get your citizenship.
