Hi

I sent my appication July 10 and it was recieved July 14th I received an email this am however I am onable to open it as per the following


adobe reader could not open " doc " because it is either not a supported file type or because the file has been damaged (for example, it was sent as an email attachment and wasn't correctly decoded.


It is early for approval email wondering if anyone else received one

You need microsoft word to open a doc file.

It should open also with "Word Pad" in windows. Also you could also get "Open Office" (open source software ) really good to have and permits creation, opening, editing of many types of document files.

Thanks I will try those although it is really early to expect an approval isn't it only 30 days

it may be an AOR. it appears CIC is sending them again, and others are reporting getting them after 4 weeks. it can also be a request for a missing document. you can also try opning a gmail account, and using the google document app to open it.

They are saying that the application is not complete I did fill in the IMM1344 08-2014 which is the one on their site Is it not the latest one ???????

perhaps you missed a signature on the one you sent. just submit a new one and make sure it's absolutely complete.

I have a photocopy of the one I sent and it was complete and signed as I had my husband sign it before I left Cuba I made sure as I have read on this forum that a lot of people forget to sign that form. Now he is in Cuba and I am not and I only have 45 days to resend it Is there any way to get his signature will they accept a copy ?

No I decided to wait with the medical, couldn't figure out if I needed the chest xrays and all that other stuff? (maybe someone can clarify?)

yes, all medicals require a chest xray. this is to show you do not have tb. medicals can NOT be approved without the xray. the panel doctor will send you to get them done after the physical exam.

Correct me if I am wrong but they need original signatures no scans or copies. You may have to get your spouse to print out the form and sign it and have it couriered over to you. I really fear this too for ours when was your submission date?

If you both signed the form in the correct spots, I would call them. It doesn't seem appropriate that they would ask for an August version form when you submitted in July.

Hi

I did call cic and spoke to an agent when I could not open the document and he said it was probably just an acknowledgement of the application. Finally got it opened and it was asking for the new IMM1344 I am beside myself as they have only given me 45 days to sent it My husband is in Cuba of course and it is impossible to get his signature. I have a file number attached to the email so I will call tommorrow. I have read in some of the other threads that this has happened to them as well.

Well that definitely sucks. It seems like they are holding it up for the sake of holding it up then. If you can't get it back from Cuba in 45 days then I guess you would have to write them and tell them that you will be delayed in getting back from him within the time frame.
