Something funny I'd like to point out:

The number of CEC application received over the cap has never been updated again - 3,586 / 8,000. Have they abandoned us? :-[

With the processing time increasing to almost 84 days for issuing AOR (August CEC Spreadsheet) I would say CIC has definitely sidelined CEC applicants if not totally abandoned us.

Also, if you check the FSW timelines.. it seems they are getting landed within 6 months this year and CEC is getting more and more delayed. Ideally should have been the other way around. have we ruined our chances by having a Canadian experience? :)

Here take a look >> http://tinyurl.com/FSW14-Spreadsheet

With the upcoming holiday season, CEC processing is likely to slow down further.

Any idea if May 2014 candidates received their MR? Then comes June and July..I guess Feb/March is an optimistic timeframe to expect MR. Any comments?

When i applied for CEC, i had the finger prints and police record check from Canada but not original one from Pakistan, But my family back home had received it so i sent a color scanned copy of Pakistani PCC along with my application. Additionally, i also wrote a letter mentioning i have not received the PCC from pakistan physically thus attaching a scanned copy. I did also have a 3 yrs old PCC from Pakistan which i sent original. So in short, i sent below docs:
1) Original finger prints and PCC from Canada
2) Original PCC from Pakistan issued in Nov 2011. (I have been in Canada since Dec 2011 and only had a 3-week vacation in Pakistan this year July)
3) Scanned color copy of new PCC from pakistan.

Should i sent the new original one by mail or should i wait for CIC to request the document?

Hi,

Send the original new PCC to CIC now as the PCC cannot be more then 3 months old at the time of submission and you never know when CIC will decide to ask for it.

Are you sure about 3 months? I thought it was 6 months? I got mine in Sep 14 but it was issued in August so its already past 3 months :(

Also.. i have a colleague at work and she also applied for CEC and she wrote a letter similarly and later they didnt even ask for a PCC. She did not even send a copy earlier.. now she has her PR

Here is the link:

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/security/police-cert/intro.asp

Here is the extract:

Who needs a police certificate?

In general, you and all the people in your family who are 18 or older need to get a police certificate. You must get one from each country or territory where you have lived for six or more months in a row since the age of 18.

The certificate must be issued no more than three months before you apply.

If your certificate is in a language other than English or French, send it when you apply, along with the original copy of a translation done by a certified translator.
