Hi Everyone,

Wanted to share my application background.

Status- Single
Region- South Asia
Work- Employed (Same company since I started working in Canada)
Travel - More then twenty trips to USA (Short trips, some via road some via air)
Travel when Unemployed- Yes (Twice) Category A5 as per OP (No RQ Trigger)
RQ - No
Residential Address Timeline - Same for the last three years
ID issued in the last three months - No
Local office - Mississauga
App Sent July 5th 2013
In Process - Sep 23 2013
Test Date- Feb 3rd 2014
Oath - Feb 10th 2014
Total Processing Time - 6 months 5 days

Advice, keep track of your travel clearly on a sheet, take it along and present it to the immigration officer when asked.

For the test , I read the book for 4 days, and practised on http://www.yourlibrary.ca/citizenship/index.cfm
For practise, select Province and opt for show all answers and that should help you.

Interview lasted - 12 Min, questions asked were basic about work, travel, ties with Canada (Residential status, any social work, any other ties). Checked passport and all the stamps, they matched as per my claims. They did not check any documents (I had the copies and original documents)

Good luck to everyone and thanks to the forum members for providing information that helped me prepare my file.

Congratulations rocky272727.. you got oath notice today only after passing test?

What were the questions you were asked in interview... My wife has a test on Feb 07 in Mississauga office... Any tips?

Can I go along with my wife to test centre? Can I attend the interview? as an observer and pitch in if necessary

Hi,
Yes they gave me the notice today itself.

If any travel, take record of that travel on sheet so that it is easy for her to answer the IO questions.
They asked questions about my work, what do I do (They were checking my language ability there I believe and verifying facts as per my claim).
Asked about any community involvement and travel record, that's it.

Rest we were talking about general issues, weather, how was the weekend and all. :)

Yes, you can go along with your wife but they will not allow you to sit next to her. You will have to sit outside and wait.

FYI, Mississauga staff is very nice and accommodating as observed they allowed a spouse along with there children to sit in the exam room away from her spouse.

Thanks Rocky... I'll not be allowed in test room. Can I attend her interview with officer?

No, they will not allow anyone except the applicant, both for the test as well as the interview.

Thanks for your nice comments.

When I started planning Immigrating to Canada four years ago, this forum and most importantly its members, helped me a lot.

I feel we should always try to give it back and help as much as possible as one can.

Good luck to you for your journey.
