Most likely its email sent out in a batch. So if you're confident that your PCC is good and not expired just ignore the request or for peace of mind reply mentioning you already submitted PCC.
Cheers.

For those of you who have already submitted original PCC along with your application or at a later date, the email clearly states that

"If you have already submitted your police certificates, do not apply for or submit new documents. We will contact you once your application has been reviewed by a visa officer."

So I don't think you have to worry. For your peace of mind just reply to the email stating you've already submitted the all the original PCCs.

Oh God....I thought I was the only unlucky person in the world to receive the email asking for PCC on 20 Feb 2014. Please help me.

Dear XXXXXX:

This is regarding your application for permanent residence in Canada which is now in queue to be reviewed by a visa officer. Please note that you must submit original police certificates for you and any accompanying dependents for all countries where the residence period has been six months or longer since the age of 18.

If you are currently in possession of any police certificates, which were not submitted with your original application, please submit them to our office now.

If you have already submitted your police certificates, do not apply for or submit new documents. We will contact you once your application has been reviewed by a visa officer.

If you are in the process of obtaining the required documents and have not yet received them, submit them to our office as soon as they are available.

Hello :) I received Request for Police Clearance Certificates today as well. My application filed on July 12, 2013.

I have a question to all who submitted police certificates from their original country, since Guide 5609 - Application for Permanent Residence: Canadian Experience Class says:

(Police certificates)These documents are to be provided for each country other than Canada, in which you have lived for six (6) consecutive months or longer since reaching the age of 18.

Note: If you or your family members were under 18 years of age (16 years of age in certain jurisdictions) for the entire time you lived in a particular country, you do not need to provide a police certificate for that country.

- As I understand the note means that we do not need to provide a police certificate for country of origin if we lived there for the whole time before moving to Canada;
- And first passage says that we don't need a police certificate from RCMP.

So the question is what is the purpose of their request and if I haven't submitted any of described above certificates would it be better to email them and ask whether I need to do that?

So where is the catch and where I am wrong here? ;D

Is the note simply trying to explain previous statement - '...since reaching the age of 18'.

You need to submit the police certificate for Country of Origin, Regarding 'Canada', even I didn't submit anything as per the note.......

But I see lots of people going to RCMP which isn't required if we see the note, will wait response from some senior.......Well I too got PCC mail today....

Thanks for clearing that out ;) Where does it explicitly state that police certificate is required for country of origin?

The thing is that last time when I was applying for work permit I submitted police certificate and haven't been since that time in my home country, which is almost 2 years. No way I could've done anything against the law there :) And I wouldn't get to Canada without the certificate in the first place... so does it make sense that there's no real need in submitting police certificate from country of origin again?

Just trying to find a reason why I don't need to submit it ;D
