my application was received by cio at 29th feb 2012 , now my old UCI is showing my application status that is
APPLICATION RECEIVED:
Application Received by Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC)
We have received your application. After checking for completeness, a file has been created and the information from the application form was entered.
dear fellow does it mean my fee has been deducted?
status is showing receiving date 1st march 2012

This is your first AOR! They start by checking that your file is complete, then they check if you qualify under the points system and if you do they will send you an email stating that you have received a "positive elligibility review" (PER).

I CHECKED IT ON TUE AND DIDNT CLEAR .. WHEN DID UR PP DELIVERED AT NDVO?

24th February my pp were received by vo.I checked daily as my father is a bank manager and it got paid today so do check with u r bank

Hey RKC...Robin was of the opinion that PP should reach within 15 days from DD encash date. I'm not sure if it is only his exp or it is an observation of the general trend. I am waiting for his response to that.

Your DD was encashed on 2nd right. So your PPs are just a few days away, in that case. Isn't it? Yippeeee......

ECAS updates anyway are very erratic. I have heard of one person who got his Visa at hand and the next day his ECAS was updated...lols.......

To come to a conclusion, we'll have to ask other NDVO visa earners so far , if it was the same case too with them like Robin.

Now I am not looking for CAS update, it refuses to budge. They can do it when they want. In fact I checked it only once today morning.

I just want my VISA.

Looking at the trends it seems NDVO takes 20 days to cash RPRF draft.

My DD got encashed on 1st March and my passport stamping is also the same date.

Wowweeeiii.........!!!! hope that trend also would be followed in my case too...

when did you send your passport with RPRF and all ?

Like Big O always says.....ECAS is yesterday's news. So chill buddy. Your PP must be smiling it's way to you!!!

CALLED UP Scotia bank...of mumbai...people over there told me that if i want to open an account with them it will take 15-20 days and only possible after you get your passport with visa stamp

and they would be charging 1400 Indian rupees for depositing 6,00,000 rupees in Canadian Dollars and they will deposit it in canadian bank account and statement of account could be shown at the time of landing...!!!

I am not knowing anything about banking sector..if is there anything you could share please add it up...!!

First and foremost, you need your statement in hand before landing. If you don't have that, you risk getting denied entry at the POE (the imm. Officers have that power) so double check with your bank and if you cannot have the statement please find an alternative (another bank or DD).

1400 INR is a small sum to pay for opening the account.

Ya. But thing is, only the med request rcvd dates are updated in the SS. We should actually capture med/RPRF/PP "sent to VO" date or even bettter "rcvd at VO" date. Then the calculation is a bit tighter. Do you agree?

There can be 10 more things which can be tracked on the spreadsheet but then it's of no use. The thing is , processing at VO is unlike CIO, which had a more set pattern so we were all able to predict our PER dates.

The ever changing trends in processing at VO, their moods , priorities, preferences, make it impossible to forecast anything for that matter even when you have tons of information/data available. It's like doing the weather forecast and weather changes everyday.

I suppose VOs don't have a 'Rule Book' or better we don't have any idea about their 'Rule Book'.
