Greetings from Toronto! Thanks my dear RKC for the announcement. I was actually relieved that it has stopped snowing here because... guess what?... I accidentally left my winter coat in the car on my way to the airport! hahaha.

I have already settled in. Yesterday, after a quick 10-minute shower I was already in the subway on my way to downtown. I went to the CN tower, university of Toronto, Chinatown, and the Eaton Centre to buy a..... coat! It is still very cold especially when the wind blows. I had my first Tim Horton's cup of coffee at the branch outside Ryerson university.

See you all here. It's not an intimidating place. There are lots of asians. It's really a muticultural society that you will find in this place.

It's 4:30 am here. gotta sleep first. good night!

oh btw, i just want to say, the immig process when you land is like 5 minutes and then you are out the door with your signed confirmation of permanent residency.

I still remember my first cuppa Tim Hortons French Vanilla and I miss it like hell. Enjoy your every cup.

Can any body teel me what does "In Process"Status means , and are we safe when our status turns into "In Process " from "pplication Received By Visa Office".

I applied in M2 stream , and still waiting for any update from London Office

In MI2, 'in process' after a RBVO is a good sign. You shall get your MR in a few days to weeks. Good Luck!

Hi Guys,

I personally submitted my passport last Thursday to LVO and saw decision made next day (which was strange in my eyes...)

Anyway, some members here adviced me that I should try to go for collection next Thursday i.e. tomorrow instead of next Friday which is what LVO instructs.

Now, I just checked mu ecas and firstly on the address space (there was no address up until a couple of days) but today the address is changed to Toronto, Canada and when I click on decision made, this is what I see -

We received your application for permanent residence on July 8, 2011.

We started processing your application on January 4, 2012.

We reviewed your application and sent you a letter on September 27, 2011 to 20 Ardua Street, Toronto, Ontario, Canada, M9C 3T6. Please consider delays in mail delivery before contacting us. If we have sent the letter to the wrong address, please contact us.

Medical results have been received.

A decision has been made on your application. The office will contact you concerning this decision.

Now the address in the above update is my aunt's where I land everytime I visit Canada. But she is not a blood relative and I havent mentioned her in my application. So I am wondering why have they got this address??

Congratulations explorer and it is time to rejoice and say praise. I am sure LVO is ready with your passport. If an appointment letter is not required by LVO to collect your passport, then I guess you are good to go on thursday itself.

I am assuming you mentioned toronto as your place of interest and hence you got the address there but I do not know how your aunt's address got in there. ???

They have given me a receipt for collection on 22nd April but I will try my luck tomorrow anyway. I am not too far from them. Will spend the lunch hour in travelling to LVO

I hope they sort all LVO cases quickly as well.....

Thats not a bad option shijo! But again i would say, for settlement funds, carry a DD and once you reach there, submit that DD in the scotia bank account that you opened here...thats the safest and best way i can think of! I myself got a DD from my TD bank while i came back to India and I shall show the same one when i land there and then submit in my account. Bank statement is something that is never upto date. even if u take the latest statement, it will still be 2-3 days old when u reach there and by that time, u could have withdrawn the amount from ur account.. so DD is a foolproof way to show settlement funds..

but you will loose your a big amount as DD charge. on the other hand you wont loose anything from your fund.

Hey folks...I never meant to be away forever...I never said I would be away. I was a bit tied up today with some promotions work that has been screaming for my attention (some of you know about it). Forum is a time consuming thing so I consciously kept away.

I have been thru ups and downs in my life like many cannot even imagine but I have always maintained 3 things in my life:

My relationships / friendships
My laughter and free spirit
My love for peace and harmony

My father taught me all along that my religion is "Humanity" and that's another thing I live by.

I would give anything to preserve these in my life.

I am so sorry if I made any of you feel like I want to be away. I can't stay away from this forum as I have made some of my closest friends here and it's become my extended family now.

Just logged in as a habit to take a quick glance at the end of the day and here I am...feeling guilty that I made some of you feel like I am going away. Sorry again. Will be back with a BANG tomorrow. And thank you SO MUCH for your love.
