Hello everyone,

I did the citizenship test on the 6 of December 2013 at Scarborough Center. The interview went well and the interviewer told me that I passed and that I got 18 answers right. Today I called the CIC call center and the lady said that I passed the test but I have to see a judge and doesn't explain the reason. How I can pass the exame and have to see a judge? Will I have to do the test again with the judge?

And how the interview with the judge go? I'm really confuse why the lady at the interview said I passed and the CIC call center said I have to see a judge.

Thank you

There is nothing fishy my friend. I haven't traveled outside Canada since 2006 only once for one month in 2010 and I have reported on the calculation of residency. If there was something that triggers doubt, they could give me RQ. Anyway, I have all my debit transaction, credit cards, rent receipts, OHIP history and Canada border history too.

The only problem I had is that I renew my passport just a month before the exam. And I had to give the expired one to my Embassy in order to renew it. She asked the day of the exam about that and I explained that to her. She can contact the embassy if she wants too to verify herself.

here u go. ...u answer ur question now...

I don't know what I answered? My passport expired 5 months before the exam and I renew it later and by coincidence I renew my passport about a month before the exam. And giving the expired passport to the Embassy it a MUST for the new passport.

Having newly issued identity documents is one of the triggers for a RQ. You must have submitted enough evidence to avoid the RQ but perhaps the officer wasn't satisfied. In the future, before you relinquish an expired passport or other documents, make certified copies of all pages. This may have saved you in this situation.

Hi Senoritabella,

Unfortunately, I didn't know that. If I have known that, I could keep my expired passport and didn't renew it. But they didn't send me RQ. When I called the CIC call centers, they say I have passed the test but I have to see a judge.
