Got AOR last week, no BIL yet.

PA tried connecting to GCkey with name+application # but keep getting errors/can't find application.

We are hoping to get some help with a couple questions. We submitted the Outland Spousal Sponsorship application back on Feb. 4th, 2026 but a couple of days ago we received and email that said the following:
We are returning your Permanent Resident Portal application received on 2026-02-05. We are unableto process your request as submitted. We have kept no record of your submission.Our office processes Family Class Sponsorship applications where the Principal Applicant resides InCanada. It appears that as per your information declared on your undertaking you have sent your application to our office in error as per document(s) reviewed below:... list of documents

We aren't sure what we did to get it sent to the Inland office. Does this mean we are rejected and need to file an appeal or is "returned" different? What did we do wrong?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Please try to check your forms and see if you indicated inland applicant on any form. If no mistake is found there. May be you indicated on the PR portal that you are submitting inland applicant because when you create the portal if asks you to select the PR category - Inland or Outland. Based on that selection, application are routed to these IRCC offices for processing. Unfortunately, you have to resubmit the application if it is returned.
