Hi. I just want to update the tracker:

Sheen

Test Invite: September 3
Test completed: September 11
Decision Made: Nov 9
Oath Date: Dec 23

Jsean
test Invite: November 5
Test completed: Nov 21
Thanks for the update. The tracker is now updated. Yours (sheen) processed so quickly and already has oath in a month! Wow! Congrats! It is so interesting as you applied at the same time, but the timing is different by 2 months on the test invite. Hopefully Jsean is only a couple months behind on the decision made and oath date!

Did you guys receive the test invite from the same email, or did different offices process your application? Just curious with the timing difference, and if that is based on differing offices or just completely random.

What happens if I did the online test and forgot to take a photo of my ID card? I got 20 out of 20? Should I call them?
How longit will it take to reschedule you for another test if you should retake the test?
Thank you in advance
I would either try to contact them or wait to see if they update the tracker. I don’t know how long it can take to reschedule a test, hopefully not too long.

Tracker updated today, Oath scheduled for December 31
@CdnWifeLivingInThailand could you please update it? Thanks!
Updated! Wow! Another oath scheduled for December! That will be a happy new years eve for you - bringing in the new year as a citizen of Canada! So, approximately 4 days after everything marked completed except for oath and then your oath was scheduled. Good to know for timing.

so it took a month and here is the reply from IRCC:

"We thank you for your patience and understanding regarding the delay for answering your enquiry due to the ongoing situation in Afghanistan.
Additionally, to respond to the high volume of enquiries related to the situation in Afghanistan we have shifted resources in our Client Support Centre and are responding to priority enquiries only."

Then they proceed to just ignore my enquiry as it s not a priority one. We are almost into December (meaning christmas etc) so unless I get an update this week or next week I guess it ll be into next year~ good luck to all of you who are still waiting as well, and big congratulations to the others! It makes me happy to read the success stories :)

Honestly, this is rediculous, My background check got completed in May, that’s the only update I have over the past year! I’ve been here in Canada for over 12 years, and paid taxes since the day I arrived in this country, yet No citizenship!

they talk about getting rid of citizenship application fees! And make tax payers pay for it! I don't understand how that's a good thing!. If the service is this slow and inefficient when it's charged and they have enough funds to use towards resources and hiring more people if they need to; one can only wonder how slow it will be when it's totally free! I really think they don't have enough workforce. I think they should continue charging for citizenship and with that money hire more people to work on those applications. That'd be a Win win situation.

plus there's no proper timeline. Someone who's applied in April can be processed faster than others who submitted their applications months before them.. not to mention the processing time difference between online and paper applications

and of course they keep taking applications (of all kinds.. citizenship, PR and everything knowing the fact that they can't process the ones they already have pending.) A couple of people in my family are waiting for pr for more than 1.5 years and they ended up moving to Canada from States on work visa because they got job transfer already but PR, nowhere in sight.. I understand application fees are good source of revenue but at least put it to use where it's needed and make this processing times reasonable and bearable.

Congrats! Very exciting to see the light at the end of the tunnel and have your oath date scheduled. Updated in excel. Did both of your applications get decision made and oath? Or only one of you? It seems weird that some are being scheduled for oath in December right now, while others are being scheduled for March. But maybe it's based on what office it is with/scheduled by? Even though it is virtual, do they still group same regions together?
Thank you for the congratulations!
It is a scheduled oath ceremony for both of us (me and my husband) on the same day :)
Yes, i feel the same weird about the date! But i guess in this case patience takes you a long way... My PR card is not expiring any time soon, so i have the needed time in my pocket :)
