I had a third Ghost Update today without any change whatsoever in my profile. The background still reads "we are processing". It was never changed to "in progress". My timeline is in my signature. Is this a good sign or a bad one? Can someone get three Ghost Updates and still be rejected?

A GU only indicated a movement, for which you will have to compare the dates on which you receive the GU with the activities in your GCMS notes. As such a GU is not of much significance. What matters is that your application is progressing and you are passing different stages, specially eligibility, which is the most important.

Many applicants may received 5-7 Gus while others may not receive any.

As regards the BGC, it will remain in process. Usually BGC changes twice, it goes in progress, then NA and then back to in progress. This indicates criminality which I done early in the process and security usually done after the eligibility is passed.

However, lately many applications are stuck with criminality in progress due to biometrics taking too long and thus the BGC status remains in progress.

From what I’ve seen in several monthly AORs, they are keeping security at not started or in process. Seems like they are just waiting for international borders to open to finalize everything.

What does currently valid mean? Is it passed or is it still unclear?
