January 2017-Citizenship applicants

Hi Raj,

The questions are easy. Trust me, as long as you read the book and practiced online test your good to go. They were multiple choices, True or False and fill in the blanks. The written test that I got goes like this:

Multiple choices:

2. What are the Prairie Provinces ?
Ans: Manitoba, Alberta, Saskatchewan

20. What are the Atlantic territories?
Ans: Nova Scotia, PEI, NFL, New Brunswick

Fill in the blank multiple choices

The Sovereign Royal anthem is ________ ?
Ans: God save the Queen




And so on..........

Hope this tips will calm those people who have their upcoming written test and interview. Wish you luck guys. For us, we made it. You can do it too..!!!

my wife done the test/interview today, she passed and interview was short and brief.
She was told about oath in 2-4 months time.

i just called IRCC they said they have received my FP and " now the process continues"..no idea what that means oh well. LOL

Hi Raj,

In my case my Passport got expired last year July 11, 2016 and never renewed it as in never. So if ever I include an explanatory letter I probably gonna tell them that "I never had a plan to go out Canada that is why I never renewed my Passport". But I didn't include any letter. Also my husband and my friends told me nothing to worry.

My Passport info was:

July 11, 2011- got my passport back home
Dec 25, 2012- My arrival in Canada (port of entry Vancouver)
July 11, 2016- expires (never renewed till now)


Jan 2, 2017 -- applied for citizenship (used my expired passport)

I am in the same situation while i gather my document ahead of my application due to be submitted in few months.

My current passport issued in 2011 expired last year, and I have not renewed it, neither have i traveled since then. I have not traveled out of Canada since becoming a PR. Three questions here I need to be certain about please;

1. Do you think its advisable to include a letter of explanation?

2. Since my passport was issued in 2011 and expired in 2016, the bio page of that passport, ONLY should cover passport requirement or should i also provide the bio page of the passport before?

3. Applying for citizenship with an expired passport, should not be a concern and one should not expect to receive request for more details right?

Hi, You are the same as my sister. I submitted mine the same dates, and I am taking the exam next week. But hers still In Process.
I asked her to checked and call in, but the they told here it is In Process, and she cant compare the time lines with other people. hahahaahhaa
So you are NOT alone. I am still checking her status everyday too, but no progress. I almost feel theres a halt in the application, and I was just lucky that mine got processed.

Each case is treated individually.. is the generic answer you get from CIC..

Got my Oath Date yesterday! It's will be April 26th! I can't update the spreadsheet though for some reason

I received the notification by ECAS and will be waiting the official letter by post.
