Crossed fingers everybody for the 17mos waiting :(
I think that is an overall average. According to spread sheets and other testimonials it usually takes from 6-10 months. Fingers crossed

Hello all

Please do keep updating if anyone receives AOR. Let us all pray that they make some changes in the processing times and it gets faster.

I have 2 colleagues, sponsoring wives from hongkong and india respectively, and both of them had wives coming in Canada in about 6 to 7 months since submitting the application. Both wives came last year.

so it all depends. it is not 18 months.

i am also part of this group, submitting the application in late January.

I think the 6-8 mos colleagues of yours that is coming in canada was submitted their application last year 2015 but at this time as 2016 perse they put it 17 mos for spousal sponsorship whereas I had submitted mine Jan 2016 so a little bit longer than of waiting for us :(

Isn't the 17 or 18 months and average of all the immigration offices combined? My husband is in Lima, his office was 7 months. I know places like Pakistan were around 24 months. So we figured when they say 17 months that's just an overall average. Or not?

"Why did processing times information change?

Prior to December 31, 2015, processing times for many of our services were displayed by visa office. This was useful when applications for permanent or temporary residence were always processed by the nearest visa office. However, we now have the ability to move applications around our global network to ensure they are processed as efficiently as possible. This means your application may not be processed at the office closest to where you live.

They explained that they try to ensure application being processed as efficiently as possible. Where did that 18 months come from? like my colleagues' cases, India and Hongkong had different processing time in 2015 or 2014, but both their wives came within 7 months. So it is based on the quality of your application material, your financial capacity etc. I hope i have their luck and my salary is higher than one of them.

Hello Everyone,

Just a quick question, I am ready to submit my spousal application this week. Just wondering if someone can help me in arranging the sequence of documents? Please correct me if I'm wrong here, but I was planning to arrange the file in 3 parts,

1) Sponsor Forms, Passport Copy, PR Copy, Marriage Certificate, Option C, Bank Statement, Letter of Employment & Pay Stubs

2) Spousal Forms, Civil Id's (Passport Copy, Adhar Card & license), Pre-medical, Police Clearance, Appointment Letter, Pay Stubs, Birth Certificate & School Degrees

3) Supporting Docs - 150 Photos (Includes everything), Relationship Summary, Wedding Receipts, Engagement Receipts, Honeymoon Receipts, Whatsapp Chat history, Call history, FB Insta Updates and some other movie & restaurant receipts.

Are this sequence alright or someone has a better idea on how to arrange these docs?

Also, if someone could confirm the courier address if its 2 S Peck Drive, Mississauga? and if how much fees we need to pay and in what order?

Please let me know at the earliest convenience.

Thank you and awaiting for your positive response.

Sam & Sakshi

Hello Everyone,
Just wonder if anybody had submitted the application for sponsoring a spouse living outside Canada during the second week of January 2016 (11th to 15th Jan 2016) and had received the Acknowledgement of Receipt (AOR) letter with the file number ? I had submitted my spouse's application on Jan 11th and was received by the CIC on Jan 13th and still waiting for the AOR. I believe it should be coming soon as the latest information about the processing time of the application on CIC website shows 17 month including 60 days assessment of sponsor "Last update: February 3, 2016".

Appreciate your cooperation,
Cheers,
Amir

Hi Guys,

Just a quick note for spouse's photographs, where do we need to keep them in the file and the India- Immigration guide - do we need to print and put that as well?

Thank you for your help

Thanks Drkdd & countrygal for your reply. It seems our case is similar as our submittal time is somehow close. Just so you know, I've been informed by other fellows that there is no time frame for receiving AOR as in many cases AOR is never received and the first word people hear from CIC is SA (Sponsor Approved). So the AOR could be within 30-60 days or never. So let's keep in touch and cross fingers ;-)
