I had some documents that were missing and I sent them on 3/13 but I have not heard anything since. My VR expires in May so I'm nervous as I'd really like to extend it but I'm not even sure what my status is.

It's pretty unlikely that you will be approved by May if you only applied in January, but don't worry about the VR -- you will more than likely be approved for an extension as long as you've got an application in progress and you haven't violated any conditions of your current one. The application costs $100 now, unfortunately. They like you to apply 1 month before your current one expires but they will accept the application up to the last day. I've now twice (due to circumstances) mailed applications to extend VRs on the last day of the current VR and they were approved with no problem. I can't guarantee that you'll get the same reaction, but I'd be surprised if you didn't, unless there's something you're not telling me. Just to be safe, I'd try to get the application to them by the day the current one expires. If you can do it online, that is the most efficient.

I noticed that the last one I got required a commissioned oath that we are a common-law couple. That's something new, so make sure you leave time to gather such things.

For what it's worth, after emailing the London VO about whether requests for additional info would delay my application I got a really speedy response this morning.

Basically they said that it wouldn't delay my processing time.

I haven't figured out how to check it. My hubby just moved so I can't find my receipt with the number. When I went to at least where I thought had to check it, they asked for my receipt number, My husband's UCI (which I've never received as we have received nothing from Ottawa and he's the sponsor) and some other numbers I didn't have. So I'm confused.

Ok. So here is the deal. I was requested additional documents by the LVO. What it is is e right if permanent residence fee. My confusion is I thought this was usually requested by the end of processing my application? I applied in January. This is good news, right?

I am in the system as my fee is paid and I pulled the receipt number but I couldn't get any more info. But the website says it's possibly because they reviewing my case but haven't entered anything or it's in queue ( processing time 38 days).

I would say it's positive news. Lucky you! I think I paid $475 for the RPRF. Believe I may have even read it on here that it was best to include it with the other fees in the application from the get-go in order to avoid the extra step that you will now have to do. But we're Manila applicants trying to save as much time as possible on this, you have had the 'luxury' of holding off until now (since it appears you may have your visa in as little as 4/5 months). Good thing is it can be paid for online so you can probably just email or fax in your receipt to the VO and move things along to the next step, COPR in your case.

Ah yes because of the missing documents you're basically like a March applicant now. Your eCAS won't be available to you or updated until you get sponsorship approval. Call the call centre next week to see what's up. Good luck!

As far as I know it's all the guides and paperwork that you need to go with your application ( IMM 008, 5406, FBI reports, etc. ), Senior members can correct me, but each country has specific requirements, thus a specific 'kit' Go to where it discusses the application and there should be in that section a bunch of links to country specific (some are region specific) guides. Here's a link as start for an Outland app ( inland is different) http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/fc.asp .

IMM 3901 looks like the country specific guide you need for the UK. I hope this helps.

I think the difference between inside and outside are the payment options offered to you. If you plan to pay online by credit card, it doesn't matter what you choose. If you want another mean of payment, you will need the "outside" option.
