Got PPR yesterday!! June applicant, August approval..

It has been well said that God always answers prayer. Sometimes He says, “YES.” sometimes He says, “NO.” Sometimes He says, "WAIT". Sometimes the hardest answer to accept is "wait". It's difficult to be left there clueless, wondering how God will handle our problem, but we MUST have FAITH.. and oftentimes He will give it to us in HIS TIME!" ♥ And in the end its always WORTH the WAIT.

Hit the GOOD rating below my name if you agree to this..

I'm very glad you got PPR, but I dislike you trying to gather plus ratings this way.

Hoping to get lucky too! We sent ours from Indonesia on 22 Jan using the express mail service, and according to the online tracking system it's already been in Canada as of 26 Jan, but still being held by customs... :/.

Hopefully it'll reach CIC soon...! I mean, while the package is somewhat heavy (6,4 kg), it consists of just papers and photos...nothing suspicious at all...

Fandv, I am sure it will get to CIC soonest. Not to worry...Things have been going pretty fast and we need to keep hoping and praying for the best!

I'm close to sending my application off. Common law sponsorship, Inland.

Just waiting on police certificates and some stat dec forms.

Does anyone know anything about fingerprints? I have applied for two police check certificates (NZ and Australia) but I don't know if I need to provide fingerprints too?

If CIC needs fingerprints, they will request them. It's not a normal occurance.

hey, I got a couple of questions:

1. I think the IMM 5285 form is obsolete and IMM 5490 is the new one?
2. I am in Canada (AB) but my wife is in India, so is the immigration office she is applying to, the one in Vegreville, AB or in Delhi?
3. For the medicals IMM 1017, since the application file is mostly complete, can I just proceed and submit the application and get the doctor in India to submit the form directly to the Immigration office?

1) Yes, IMM 5490 is the correct form

2) She's applying to New Delhi. Vergeville is inside Canada only. However, you will mail the enter application to CPC-M first as directed in the guide.

3) No, the doctor will give her a sheet to include with her application. He also submits results to CIC. CIC will make sure the pictures match to ensure the medical was given by the right person (fraud deterent - sad, but true!).

Here is the Outland Guide: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/guides/3999Etoc.asp#3999E4

Make sure your wife has signed all her forms before she send them to you. A complete application includes your forms and her forms :)

Wow thanks for the prompt response, so does she need to fill up Appendix C for the doctor? I am unable to find Appendix C for India in the website, has it been discontinued?

Thomas

From what I understand, Appendix C was discontinued recently - so recently, it was after my medical in October.

This is the best I can find.

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kits/guides/E33029.PDF

As you can see, there isn't a form any longer. Her DMP should be updated to the changes, but I've seen posts from others that the office are unaware of the changes. Just politely tell the clerk or doctor Appendix C is no longer offered. If they insist it is, ask if they can email you the form.

I don't know why the DMPs are so weird about patients bringing the Appendix C with them to the office. Mine told me if I couldn't find it, they would print it off and I could fill it out while I waited. I guess some of the doctors are lazy....... sigh.
