I would like to start a new thread to gather people information applying for Citizenship in Jan 2015.

My family ( 2 Adults,2 kids) are applying on Jan 8 2015.

I'll be January 2015 applicant too, were submitting by January 23 earliest.

Everyone make sure you pay the new fee $630, not the old $400. CIC should be updating this soon (the links to citizenship application isnt working today so they might be working on that now). If you already paid before Jan 1st, and you havent submitted your application, then you may have to make a new payment.

I am sending my package tomorrow.

Fees are UPDATED, and if you have already paid $400, go to the payment page and scroll down until you see the payment option for the extra $230.
I requested for a refund a few days ago, and then found this out. I don't want you to go through the hassle (wait) I'm going through to get my money back.

Will new residence requirement (4/6) be applied before Feburary comes down? Thanks

I assume the total fees to be $630 + $100 (citizenship certificate) = $730 per applicant >:(

New fee 530 + 100 = 630 for adult

I became eligible on December 28 and Express Posted on 29th. It has not arrived yet as of today, Jan 1. I paid $400 on December 22! If I had been aware of this fee increase, I would have sent it via UPS ???. I am debating whether to wait a little bit to see if the date shipped can be considered (in my opinion it should and I understand that historically it has been accepted). Anyone can advise me approximately how long it takes if indeed they return it for incorrect fee.

Within 2 months but they already have a solution for this. Go to https://eservices.cic.gc.ca/epay/order.do?category=1 and scroll down to Fee difference for Resumption of Citizenship - Adult - Processing fee (if you already paid $300).

Someone mentioned this in an earlier post.

I will be submitting mine around Jan 20th. Good Luck for us ALL!!!

$100 for minor

For those who have paid $400, as Jayl mentioned scroll down to see the option "fee difference $230"
