Dear ......,

This refers to your application for permanent residence in Canada. Please send the following requested documents

- To provide us with an original FBI Clearance and original police certificate from USA/Michigan for yourself – instructions attached.

- Have your sponsor pay the Right of Permanent Residence Fee of $490 on your behalf in Canada. Please ensure that the original receipt is forwarded to the Case Processing Centre in Mississauga and NOT to this office.

- It is the responsibility of a Canadian sponsor residing abroad to satisfy the visa officer that he will reside in Canada with the applicant once she becomes a permanent resident of Canada. Please provide evidence to the effect that your sponsor intends to reside in Canada. Such evidence should include letters of resignation from current employment if the sponsor is employed abroad, copy of lease or purchase contract for a place of residence in Canada, employment offers in Canada, bank statements from Canadian bank accounts and a letter signed by your sponsor in which he explains in detail what he has done so far to prepare himself to resume residency in Canada. Your sponsor appears to have resided exclusively outside of Canada since 1998 and does not appear to have maintained any ties to Canada beyond citizenship.

You must send photocopies of the Arabic originals of all documents. Only send ORIGINAL documents when requested. All documents, in a language other than English or French must be accompanied by original certified translations into English or French, except the passport.

If you are requested to submit a Police Certificate (see above), please send the original police certificate and the certified translation.

Please note that if you do not comply with this request within 90 days of the date of this letter, your application for permanent residence in Canada will be assessed on the basis of the information already before the officer. Failure to provide the requested documents could result in the refusal of your application.

Please note: It is your responsibility to ensure that the information you provide our office is accurate and up-to-date. Please inform us immediately if there are any changes to the information or documents you have submitted. If there is a change in your legal status or that of any family member (marriage, birth, death, divorce, etc.) you must notify us before visas are printed.

Passports: Each person must have their own passport, including minor children. Your passport MUST be valid beyond the validity of your visa. Any passport changes after the visas are printed will result in a Replacement of an Immigration Document charge ($30.00 CDN / $30.00 USD) for each visa that needs to be reprinted.

What is the question? Damascus is asking for proof that the sponsor is going to return to Canada, and wants to see proof the job is finished. They don't want the PR to proceed to Canada and return immediately to the middle east, maintain PR status by residing with the CC spouse.

Sorry I wasn't clear in my post.
I was wondering about the PRF 490$, can we assume from asking this that they have made their desicion , but waiting the FBI clearance and the proof of my husband re-establishing in canada

Yes, it appears that they are ready to approve once they Police Certificates arrive, unless something turns up in the background check.

thank you for your reply PMM, we will start preparing all the documents they want, and I will keep my finger crossed, but as I was talking to my husband, it isn't over untill the fat lady sings, hopefully soon, cause we have filled our application in Feb-25-2008...13 looooooooooong months

Rorita that is a very good sign. You might not be asked for an interview. Keep praying for you. Good luck
I hope I won't wait 1 year before approving my husband application.

Thank you Marlena, good luck for you too, But you know , i am trying to be optimistic, but because of the fact that there is no rule in the immigration work, each case is different from each other, so i am trying to keep preparing myself for an interview if it come up , so i will be able to deal with it, and in the same time, I hope that after sending the required document, they will ask for the passport.
My prayer are for the couple on this forum.

As I understand from the letter your husband doesn't live in Canada. Is he Canadian Citizenship???
If you go through interview please let me know so I can have an idea what to expect.
Also I don't know if you noticed in one paragrah asking to pay the fee for PR, to me it so abvious that you have been approved.

yes, my husband is canadian citizen since 1993, but he is originaly lebanese.
If God forbiden, and I go to an interview, I will post here for sure, but we have the interview question on this forum, make a search for interview, and it will show, I lost the link, but I have it in a word file . what I did as well, is I made a list for about 100 question or so for any question that came up in my mind, that they may ask, about me and my husband, his family, education, background, likes deslike....put it in word fill, and I answered the question I know, and made my husband answer what I don't know about him, and from time to time I read all this question and keep them fresh inmy head.
concerning the PRF, well we have already pay it and send the receipt to CPC, but this fee is refundable, so there is not nothing sure 100%, until I see the visa on my passport and hear the officer in the security clearance in toronto saying, welcome home...:)

Thanks a million. I will search under interview and find the proper document. I'm sure since I'm the one who is sponsoring my husband and when it comes to arab male there is no doubt in my mind they will ask for an interview.

shu God phorbid? interview is a step lie any other step, its nothing to worry about, almost everybody goes thru an interview, nothing wrong about that, dont belive these stories u hear about ppl saying the IO asked them impossible questions or the IO decided prior the interview to refuse a file!

rorita, rasha, marlena, RELAX all will be PERFECT (this is an advice from the most negative-thinking person on earth:P)

You wona bet that you are the most negative thinking person on the earth, ...??? guess what I am for sure the most negative person on the earth, I used to be negative , and now ...word can't express how much, it is true my case is easy, I guess, but thinking that your life is in the hand of a strange person, who for him you are only a number...that make me not sleep in the night...

^^ i understand but the canadian system IS fair, they dont refuse blindly, and they dont treat ppl like numbers, the only bad thing about them is their speed, other than that i dont see any problem.

ur file toke time because it was transerd from buffalo to damascus, my friend also had his file tranf from buffalo and it toke around 2 months AFTER emailing the minister because buffalo refused to transfer the file at that time and he emailed the minister who replied to him after 3 weeks to inform him his file is being transferd.

look chear up, ull soon be in toronto with ur husband, just start making a list of things u wanna pack to canada, trust me on this.

Boujasim, like they say in lebanon, from your mouth straight to god ears, that I will be done soon, next month is my birthday, and I need a good news inorder to absorb the idea of becoming 33...:)
I hope you are right, and the canadian immigration are fair.
Marlena, I just discovered that you have sent your application in March 31-2009...well I will tell you this from an expert waiting person, and sorry in advance if it is little hard on you...You still in the begining of that trip, I hope that your application will be approved, specialy that your husband is lebanese like me..:) but you have started to worry very early, and by being worried that much from the begining, you will have hard time later on, trust me.
I had almost a nervous breakdown, when I discovered that my file took 6 month to be transfered from buffalo to damascus, but I manage bearly to stand , thank god, cause it wouldn't serve me in anything being that worry and that made.
so take it from me, calm down, do research, make sure that you have everything you need to prove for them your geniun marriage, and things will be good
