Is it essential to have a job while applying?

I'm just about to apply through CEC for my PR. I've completed the required 12 months under NOC 1241 (Administrative Assistant), and I've got all the required documentation to support the application.

However, I am not currently employed (I'm actively seeking employment). Any suggestions on whether the lack of current employment could negatively affect my application? Would a visa officer look unfavorably on an applicant that has completed the minimum required work experience, but isn't presently employed? Should I get a job (verify it with an employment letter) before applying?

Thanks in advance to the good people that take the time to help! You guys are gems!

Being unemployed at the time of application has zero impact on your application or the officer's decision as long as you are not claiming points for a job offer. Good Luck!
