Dear Folks,

Is it required to show income requirement for Sponsoring Spouse and Child under 18 years of age.

It is clearly mentioned on CanadaVisa.com that if a Sponsor is sponsoring his Spouse and Child
the Sponsor is then Exempt from financial / income proof /. ( Or, Am I reading it wrong )

In a spousal sponsorship, there are no financial proofs required to sponsor your spouse and their dependents. As the sponsor, You can't be on welfare and certain other forms of social assistance.

Looking at your profile, it appears you yourself are a PR and now wanting to sponsor your spouse. You will be required to physically be in Canada for the entire duration of the the sponsorship application from beginning to end.

Also, just checking, but you were married After the date you yourself landed as a PR?

Hey Jordo,
Thanks for the info on the financial proof.
I am married for the last 6 years and have 1 dependent child.
Is there any way to get my Spouse and Child to stay with me and then Apply for their Permanent Residence from within Canada.

They can apply for TRVs but chances of approval are not high.

Regards,
As long as your spouse and child were properly declared and did medical exam in your own PR app (or you got married/had child after becoming PR), then you can sponsor them anytime you are residing in Canada.

There is no minimum income requirement, however you need to submit income/employment info so the visa officer is confident you can support your family and won't need to go on welfare after they get PR.

They can apply for TRVs, but as you are a strong tie for them to Canada there's a high chance it may be refused.

As a PR you must be living in Canada during entire sponsorship process, but can leave for short/temporary vacations.

What could be the reason for disapproval?

Regards,
Your wife will need to have exceptionally strong ties to her home country if you hope to get a visitor visa. With you being her spouse in Canada it is quite probable that she will be denied as they will assume she has no intentions of leaving.

I see that you just landed in Sept 2017. Did you list them as non accompanying? Your wife and child were both examined medically and had backgrounds done, correct?

Regards,
A person must show strong ties to their home country to show that they won't overstay in Canada. A citizen/PR spouse living in Canada is almost always seen as the strongest tie, so the spouse is considered an overstay risk. She would need to submit a very strong app.

As per OP's previous posts, spouse and child were included as non-accompanying.

Dear Alurra71,

Yes, I did the landing in Sep 2017, and already received my PR Card. Also, on my COPR my Wife and Child are already included with Medical
and Background checks done, and have been given UCI numbers also. ( Flagged as Non-Accompanying ).

I fail to understand why on Sponsorship application they do so much scrutiny after my Family is already included on my Application as Non-
Accompanying. Also, why do they require employment history. Can't I make an application if i am unemployed yet or must i show employment
to be eligible to sponsor.

Kind Regards,

Few more Questions.
In the sponsor section i noticed that the form is asking for employment history for the last 5 years.
Is this employment history requiring a sponsor to enter employment in Canada or also employment before getting PR.
Is it possible to stay unemployed and still apply for Family Sponsorship ???
Kind Regards,
