Hello,

Hoping someone can give advice or suggestions. My boyfriend is planning on coming to stay with me in Canada next year for 6 months. I know what information I need to include in the invitation letter I'll be doing up for him, but when it comes to the purpose of the trip, I'm not sure what I should be writing. Should I say the invitation is for an extended stay, to explore our relationship?? If anyone has already written an invitation letter I'd appreciate your input.

Thanks for your help! :)

Hi, if your boyfriend is applying for a visa he will no doubt be sending in his itinirary along with the forms to the embassy for processing of his visa. i have invited a number of people from my country (south africa) and no visa has been denied

to whom it may concern,

This is to certify that Jack will be visiting me in Canada from January 1st 2010 to June 1st 2010. Jack has been a close personal friend of mine for 5 years and will be staying at my home for the duration of his stay.

My address:

blah blah blah blah
Calgary

contact telephone number
403 .....

should you require any further information, please do not hesitate to conatct me.

Kind regards,
mmmmmmm

its all the information they require, dont offer too much but dont avoid the obvious. short and sweet, they only want to know where the person is when they are here and that they plan to leave again. that they have a plan of action and wont be asking the government for any support.

hope it helps.

Thanks for your reply, yes that definitely helps. I wasn't sure if I should include just the bare minimum or a lot of information. Thank you for including the letter that you've written, I really appreciate it! :)

and notarizing your signature by notary public can be a good addition too.
