Hello Everyone,

I am reaching out on behalf of a friend who received the following email from SINP:

"Dear SINP Applicant,
We are writing to inform you of significant changes to the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP) that directly affect your application. Due to the federal government’s decision to reduce Saskatchewan's immigration allocations by 50 per cent in 2025, the SINP must implement immediate program changes to manage our limited allocation effectively.
After careful review and consideration, we must return your application to SINP as it does not have an associated job offer from a Saskatchewan employer. Effective March 27, 2025, the SINP is prioritizing applications with approved job offers from Saskatchewan employers to maximize the greatest possible benefit of a reduced number of nominations and to ensure the SINP is addressing the most critical labour market needs. Please see this media release for more information about this announcement. "

Does anyone know if there are any possible solutions to continue with his application and secure an SINP nomination? For example, would finding a job in Saskatchewan help, or is this a lost cause at this point?

Any insights would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance!

IMO it's a lost cause for your current application since it has already been returned. If you can get a qualifying job offer, get an LMIA and work permit and move to Canada on that work permit, then you could reapply. One of the requirements the federal government has placed on the province is that 75% of all nominees must be living in Canada. So I think you are out of luck for this year unless you are able to move here.

So sorry for your situation and actually we are going to see more of this depending on new government. You or your friend can try to apply for FSW direct through CEC, but provincial nomination is not an option at this time.
