Yes, the current 8-9 month processing time to receive FSA is correct.
Then depends of what country you are from and what additional documents they may request from you.
It's a long wait but at least you are with your loved one(s) here in Canada while waiting.

I really need a good letter, I'm waiting over 2 years now for good news. And if it takes 3 more months - it is OK for me because I KNOW I have to wait 3 months. The worst thing ever is not knowing ....when they said on the phone, backround check can takes few weeks or few years, there is no timeline.

I have high hopes on the good ol' Canadian Postal Service to deliver your Decision Made letter this friday!. I also received my DM letter on a friday and it's the best day to receive letters as it's just in time for the weekend and start celebrating!...

I hoped to hear about 3-4 months though as I saw that time frame earlier when preparing my application.

So hoping for the best I did not enclose an application for open work permit to my PR application since my current work permit is valid through June 2011. Can I send it later and if yes – what would be the best time / way to do so?

I'd say you gotta be landed by June, 2011; Latvian!.
But in case you are not, the best way to re-apply for your work permit might be the good ol' fashioned way: by mail.
I applied for mine online and it took longer than if I had mailed it in. But this is now, perhaps things next year will be different... I'd revisit the work permit situation until at least March, 2011... you have lots of time in between.

but i call the cal center. And agent told me i got approved in principle yesterday. So i am not sure believe in it or not on him.

Hi all,

I sent my inland PR/sponsorship application to Vegreville on Oct 1st and looking forward to see some progress so I checked the time frame for application processing and was quite surprised to find out about 8-9 months for first approval stage I thought it's suppose to take 8-9 months for the whole thing, not for the 1st stage only... or did I get it wrong? How long does it take to get first stage approval and also the whole process?

Can you please share your knwoledge on that?
