The way they process the files is so stupid. Some people get approval in no time and some like us who applied long time ago and waited months haven’t got any approvals not even OWP’s to start our lives
This waiting thing is so painful..check the system everyday and sleep with hope for tomorrow and next day is same

I agree. I don't expect the OWP soon. Remember work permits usually processed faster when mailed with the PR.

I just wish there are more updates with the PR.

I sent it to where they go without a PR; I believe it is Edmonton.

Also I hope everyone has a nice holiday weekend. Hopefully those of us who did not have an update will have some news this coming week!

Can I apply for an open work permit ONLINE after the medical exam has been passed but before receiving sponsor approval? If yes, do you have a link to the forms I should fill in? Or should I send a paper application? Thanks!

You can only apply online once you've received AIP.

It will have to be by paper if you send one in before that. Keep in mind it will still take normal processing time(3-4 months) so you might only need the OWP for a couple months

Thanks! How can I be sure that I received AIP (Approval in Principle, right?) On the CIC website it says "you have received a letter from IRCC stating that you meet the PR eligibility requirements; you still have to pass the medical, security, and bg checks..." As far as I know, IRCC only sends AOR, but no letter for AIP. Should I call CIC?

You have already received AIP. Eligibility requirement is AIP. And you can apply online as well.

So what are the steps for the online work permit app? Go through the questionnaire?
