The visa office is Kitchener, Ontario. Was told by CIC the wait at this office is around 3-4 weeks so kind of surprised it came through in just a week.

They haven't asked anything from sponsor, letter just states that the sponsor should come with me but haven't specified if sponsor needs to bring any ID/proof of address etc. They have asked for my passport, confirmation of Right to PR fees receipt and 2 pictures.

I'd make sure the sponsor has their ID, just in case...but whatever you need to bring would be listed on the document. They won't get a letter.

Yes, that was fast. Etobicoke is taking around 6 weeks.

I am pleased to advise you that the processing of your application for permanent residence will be finalized at an interview
that has been scheduled for:
......"

They have given me a date and time in February 2017 for the interview. I am wondering what this means. Generally, what questions will they be asking in the interview?

They came to visit us, but we weren't home, so they left us a note and asked a call-back. We called the next day and they had a phone interview with the sponsor, mostly about our relationship and it lasted almost an hour...

They have given me a date and time in February 2017 for the interview. I am wondering what this means. Generally, what questions will they be asking in the interview?

Yay!!!! Congrats. That's your landing interview!!! It means you are done!! Just few basic questions all stuff you already listed on your application.

I have my landing this Thurs. Am I able to get a SIN number straight after?

I was told to wait 24 hours after landing for it to update in their systems before going in to get a SIN number. It might be different at different locations/ provinces though- I would definitely ask in case you waste time waiting in line for a SIN number and end up having to go back anyway

status. For your convenience, Service Canada representatives may be at this interview to assist you in obtaining your new

Social Insurance Number, provided you meet the proof-of-identity requirements. Please bring your current Social

Insurance Number card that begins with a "9" with you."*****

So I think you might get it changed right away.

My letter (email) didn't say that. Interesting. I have to bring passport, 2 pics, the landing letter, receipt and OWP.
I will take it tomo anyway just in case.

Should the sponsor also carry photographs , or is it just the applicant ?

Calgary, tomorrow.

Just the applicant. There is a pic guide on CIC's website and should also be included in the landing email.

The sponsor should probably carry ID with your address on it, for example, a driver's license.
