We received sponsors AOR 2 months after the application was received and applicants AOR - 8 months after the application was received by CIC.

Yeah, our app was received July 2015. We did receive OWP only 2.5 months after sending app, think we got lucky. The AOR we got now was for me, the applicant. Not sure when we will get the sponsor one.

Good news! I received my AOR few minutes ago
I'm still waiting for my OWP

More good news! I spoke to an agent this morning who said there is a note on my file that my OWP is in progress. The agent said I should receive my OWP in the next week or 2

Good News! Received my AOR today. Also called the Agent about my OWP that was sent in the same envelope and still no news from the note they sent to Mississauga. Weird but oh well! At least I know they have my Sponsorship Application. Would love to know where my OWP is though haha

Awesome!! Hopefully you will get it soon. It seems like October/November applications were totally placed out of order and there is no rhyme or reason to how they are processing them. We have OWP, but still not AOR!

Hi there I got an OWP under the pilot programme but it is only valid until October as this is when my passport expires. I now have a new passport.
Do you think I could apply for a new open work permit with my new passport, online??

You are now only eligible to apply for work permit under SCLPC OWP Pilot Program, no other program qualifies you to submit a new OWP.
Under the Pilot Program you already received the OWP, so you can't apply a NEW one again apparently.
As per the Pilot Program webpage, you can extend your current OWP before it expires:

"If you were provided with a work permit under the initial pilot, you must apply for a work permit extension before it expires."

You may have to apply in paper because, only applicants who have "already received approval in principle on your permanent residence application......may apply for an open work permit online.", which means after you have passed "the 1st stage".

have a question.
I sent my PR inland application in June 2015 and after 8 months got AOR. Thank God.

My visa is going to expire in July 2016 and I would like to extend it I asked one consultant here as to if I can apply for OWP and they said No I should just apply for extending my TRV.

And wait for 25 months until I get my PR. Which looks to me is sucha long time without any status like I won't have my medicare card or be able to work if I plan in future. I'm confused that why did they say I should not apply for OWP the reason they gave is that by just having temporary resident status they will know you are not trying to steal citizens job just chill for 24 months??

Can please someone suggest me if I should apply for OWP and visa extension or both?
