so right now we're just waiting for the next result, right? how many months it will usually take for the result of PR application?
Thanks

Hello all :)
I applied for PR under spouse category from within Canada on 25th Aug 2015. Got my application received on 13th Jan 2016. I have a graduate open work permit valid till 20th Aug 2016. Could you please tell me
1. when is the right time to apply for open work permit under spousal category?
2. Where can I find the application for open work permit under spousal category?
3. My husband is a PR and we applied for my PR from ALberta. Now we moved to ONtario. FIrst stage of my PR is not yet over. Is it okay to let the CIC know of my address change from ALberta to Ontario?

1. I would be putting it together now, it's nowhere near as long winded as the PR app but the sooner it's done the sooner you'll get it which just now, if all goes well, would be around 4 months time from submission.

2. Info here - http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/tools/temp/work/admissibility/open.asp . And IIRC this is all you need. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/extend-worker.asp. Remember to send it to Vergerville and not Mississauga (spelling mistakes I know!)

3. I would think that's a wise thing to do.

Good luck :)

Have some work for this week, very much hoping that my OWP is waiting for me in my mailbox when I get home.

Happy Rabbie Burns Day everyone!

Hello everyone,

My application was sent to CIC Jan 14 2015, but haven't got AIP as yet. In the mean time I was on PGWP till June 12 2016. Just to be safer I am sending OWP application and need advise on whether:

1) I should wait for get AIP and apply for work permit online thereafter or go ahead with OWP right now?

2) Do I have to send Statutory declaration of common law union again? I have already sent that with my PR application.

1. You shouldn't expect to get your AIP for another 6 months or so. It currently takes ~ 18 months for an Inland applicant to reach that stage.
I suggest you submit the OWP application now (and be sure to pay the full amount of $255). Some people are forgetting to include the $100 `holder' fee.

2. No.

You are eligible now for the OWP, thanks to the Pilot Program that was launched in late December 2014.

Received my CSQ today, applied December 10th, 2015.

Well, how's everybody's progress?

It was weird that I finally received the AOR email on Jan 21, 2016. Oh well, I have been checking my application status online using the UCIs that I got from my OWP and my hubby's old docs. So the pdf letter was no particular use except that it was an official correspondence from the CIC.

I also got my second OWP from the CIC this month. It was so weird.

Not sure if those things were all the updated automatic processes from the CIC for the new year 2016, but they at least showed that CIC has been having something going on. Just hope that there will be more good news coming up while we are waiting with our OWPs.

We - October applicants still not heard anything from CIC yet. It is almost 4 months since we submitted application. No AOR, no OWP.

Had you applied for a 2nd OWP having only received a 1 year OWP originally? Or did they just send you another one with an extra year?

Chuphuc - I wouldn't worry yet, i'd expect your AOR to come in the next few weeks.

Looks like the people who sent there applications in December are getting AOR's while the people who sent their applications in October or November have been skipped over. Not sure what I can do to expedite things.

Yes I did, its a pretty straight forward application if thats what you mean by easy. Im not sure about the maximum time it takes. Have you received a letter from CIC inviting you to apply with the quebec government to get your CSQ? If you look at the inland application timeline document you can see when a few others have received theirs, I believe the average is about a month or two
