well, this statement appears when you click the question mark in every category, which means it is just a general statement, I don't see any reason to worry about it.

I just asked Ponga and Aquakitty on the other thread how can we be sure there is no cap. I also wonder if an MP should get confirmation on this.

Sponsor your parents and grandparents
We started accepting new applications to sponsor parents and grandparents on January 4, 2016 at 8:00 a.m. Eastern Standard Time. We will accept 5,000 new and complete applications. Your application will be returned to you if it is incomplete or if the cap has been reached.
You can now get the 2016 application package on this site.

There is no mention anywhere that they have a cap in place for spousal sponsorship applications.
ddkkoo said:Hi,
i, canadian, wife - visa-exempt passport, no sponsorship or PR app yet, been living outside canada, and soon we fly back to canada together, and i have goods to follow (as returning citizen) , she will enter as visitor, I wonder, at the point of entry, if she will be suspected that she will stay for long because i have goods to follow that has all the family belongings.
2nd senario, i fly back to canada alone, first with goods to follow in which goods to follow has my wife's belongings, is there is problem with that? and later let's say after a month of so , she fly to Canada alone to join me in Canada, she would enter as visitor, will she be at higher risk being deny of entry as she travel alone?
we will have such situation because we may want to later apply PR inland after settling down in canada
Thanks in advance for everyone's input.

Looking at the 2015 inland timeline, it seems like there's no particular order to when they decide to work on an application. I hope you get out of this situation soon.

Nu2This said:Good morning Everyone,
I have a ton of questions as I am winding one the first applications and prepping to send it off asap (please forgive all the questions):
For my spouse's Visitor Extenstion Application, it is Form IMM-5710, correct?
This is in fact the same form used to apply for the Open Work Permit too, right?
Which box do I select for the Visitor Extension under "I am applying for": Temporary Resident Permit?
Do we have to include a crim check and a medical for the visitor extension?
Under question 2 of the "Background Info" section, it asks if he has remained beyond the vailidty of his status, attended school without authorization or worked without authorization in Canada?":
He has never remained beyond his valid status, but during a visit, he took 3 courses for one semester at a university, then applied for a study visa, and got proper authorization for the remainder of his studies.
My question for this is, should he say he did in fact study without authorization even though his courses were only one semester before he returned home or not? (I am confused on this one)
Do you think it will be a problem if I send the Visitor Extenstion via mail before the end of Jan.2016 or asap (my spouse has until Feb.29.2016 before his passport stamp expires - visa exempt)?
Has anyone used Canada Post Xpresspost with tracking and signature receipt?
This will be only applying for the Extension; then I can submit the same form (IMM-5710), along with his PR application for the Open Work Permit, do you think that can work?
Should I write a letter for the Visitor Extension App too, letting them know I will be submitting the PR and OWP apps sometime in Feb?
Do the Visitor Extension Apps go to Vergreville too? (I have been informed that he can apply online, we may do that, but we have paperwork completed).
Thank you all so much for responding to my 1000 questions...you are amazing and very helpful!
