Just called CIC and they just said i should get SA by September which is exactly what they told me a month ago... Then they said if I don't hear anything by September they'll send a note to my visa office... I don't know, I just feel depressed and disappointed in this whole thing. I just wish they would speed up my application because people who applied after me are already getting good news

At least they gave you a month when you should received SA and since both CIC reps quoted the same month that is a good thing.

I know how you feel about applicants after you getting news already but don't get discouraged.

Are you applying inland? If so why would they send it to your visa office if you are applying at Mississauga?

Yes I agree. Also I read someone else posted that the staff might be on summer vacation so it can slow down processing times. I just hope I'll hear something from CIC by the end of this year!

Glad I am not a government employee! But I think they deserve this time -- after all they have to rest their rubber stamping hands for the upcoming push to clear out the Spousal Sponsorship backlog.

I think it is safe to say that if they can process 25 000 Syrian refugees between November 2015 and 27th February, 2016 then surely they have proved that they can process all applications faster. Did they get Summer 2016 off for doing this?

Surely after the refugees then they should have processed Jan to June 2015 applicants, then July to Dec 2015 applicants.

This is what I actually do for a living... so I am sure you can imagine how frustrating it is to see this, and I cannot even comment to help them make it better. I knew I shouldn't have called in today.

thanks! I think they are processing now the March-aug pile they had transferred...I see more March ppl receiving SAs etc. So I am July apps are coming along...just hang in there...

I had the same thought, after I called to chat with them about some letters they sent out last week (in error it seems). They cannot even tell me where the email came from, because their system has no log of it. The best part about the PCC email was, it had a clear threat in it: failure to submit would mean they would process the application without it, and deem the PA inadmissible for failing the security check. Oh ya, and we submitted an original with our filings...

Process isn't broken at all ...

I submitted a spouse application that was received by CIC on June 7th. I also submitted an open work permit application with the spouse application.

As of today I've still heard no word on when my open work permit will be approved and there's no info online. I have two questions:

1. Should I have received separate notification for receivable of my open work permit application?
2. How long is it currently taking to approve open work permits that have been submitted with spouse applications?

Please help!
