Hi
You can't send a criminal record from 2010 as they are only valid for upto 2 years. You have to request the embassy to give a new one. For the medical, you can only use the CIC Approved doctors. The list of approved practitioners is on CIC Website. DO NOT SEND results from your family doctor; the approved practitioners send in specific forms (EMedical) to CIC Directly.

Your application was received in September, so you are in September group.

Hello everyone! Just checking in - I see that quite a few applicants from September 2015 have received AIP already! That's amazing. Hopefully that means we will find a nice surprise in our email inbox sometime soon.

CIC received our application on Sept 11 2015, and started processing it on Dec 11. Does that put us in the September group or the December one?

Guys! We got sponsorship approval and AIP today along with a meds request! This is moving much quicker than anticipated. I hope that means good things are soon to come for the people who applied before us!

Quick question - they've asked for a new medical within a month, but it can take Canada Post 3 weeks to get something to Mississauga. It says if we can't get it in that soon it could be grounds to refuse our application??? If we scan it in and send it with our Case Specific inquiry through the online tool, will that be enough to tide them over until it comes for real? haha. Also, how common is it to get in with a Canadian doctor quickly? The short time limit is stressing me out a bit.

You can see the list of CIC approved panel physicians here http://www.cic.gc.ca/pp-md/pp-list.aspx - you have to use one of those Drs and remember you prob need to book urine/blood/chest xray separately.

Something tells me this is going to be expensive... any chance Alberta health care would cover some of it?

Not likely, unfortunately. No idea what the costs are in Alta, but in BC it seems to be ~ $250 (+/-).

Make sure to choose a doctor that uses the e-Medical system (most do), which means that the results are transmitted directly to CIC electronically.

Actually you have to send the original police certificate, copies are not accepted.
And even though the person is obviously an idiot, I would send the uncensored copies of the logs. It's always risky to not comply with their requests, even if it's so out to lunch. And make sure that you send a copy of your marriage certificate, they may have lost it. Of course, everything should go with an explanatory cover letter, so they don't have to figure out themselves that you are sending a marriage certificate because you are married...

Thanks Sophieee. I will send the original police certificate then. With regards to the timeline, I was notified to get the police check on 11/12 May and expected to have it sent to them by 6 June. Express Post takes around 5 days to get to my original country and the police takes about 10 business days to process before sending it back (I assume not by express), so I'm a little worried that it will not be in time to meet the deadline. I'm from a country that only gives the police COC when it is requested so I couldn't have done it earlier before CIC requested them. What should I do if I miss the deadline?

Thanks again in advance for any responses. :)

Hi all,

I submitted the application on Sept 30th (AOR in February but no AIP yet) and after seeing some applicants got AIP recently I went to get the medical exam done today. I provided the receptionist our UCIs and application number but she said I don't need it.

At the end she gave me a form with UMI number on it. I'm wondering does that mean I have to inform CIC about this? How should I contact CIC?

Thanks!

That's not as bad as I thought honestly - if I remember correctly my husband paid nearly 400 euros for the privilege last time. There's only one doctor in my city unfortunately - hopefully he is up to speed with the technology! Otherwise, we may need to make a day trip out to Calgary just to be sure. If I understand this email correctly, the eMedical doctors will be able to take new photographs as well?

I'm a glutton for punishment.

As a March 2015 applicant i cannot stop looking at the website - specifically this page - waiting for some promising news (i was out of status and have been unable to work and am waiting for a work permit when i get AIP). And every day i keep seeing September applicants getting AIP/DM.

Aaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrggggggghhhhhhhh!

As soon as you requested your PCC and you have some proof of your request, you should send a letter to CIC, advising them that you have already made the request and you will send the results as soon as you receive them. Give a timeline if you are able to. They are aware that for some PCCs it takes months to receive it, if you let them know before your deadline, they will understand.

If you were requested to do the meds, you should have received the IMM 1017 form. With that form your doctor can send your result directly to CIC. It's still a good idea to send your eMedical sheet (or any other proof) yourself, so CIC is aware that it is in process. You can use the CSI to send your proofs.

Hello friends... :D

I like to inform that me and my husband got SA and AIP with medical form via mail today... :P
but I also receive one pink letter asking for-

1) Include the updated and completed IMM 0008 Generic Application Form for Canada and a completed IMM 5669 Schedule A background/declaration form.
2) Include a copy of my passport.

3) Include a recent police clearance certificate from all countries i have resided in for longer than six months ( Does it mean i have to submit India and canada both PCC ???)

There is one more option for PCC section, which stated If i have applied for PCC and if its going to take longer to get pcc then send it later.(so should i send rest of the document now without pcc or its better to wait for pcc from India and send them all together).

4) submit the medical

5) pay your Right of permanent residendence Fee.

At what address i have to send above documents (I am residing in Toronto)? I got the letter from CIC Etobicoke Toronto office.

what is the fastest way to get Canadian PCC here in Toronto ?

Thanks in advance...:)

As others said, you will have to get a new PCC from India (and from every other country where you have resided for more than 6 months BUT Canada). You can get your Indian PCC through an Indian embassy or consulate. You don't need to get a Canadian Police Check, CIC can do it for itself.
There should be an address in your email where they are expecting the documents.
If you are not able to get everything before the deadline, send them a letter, advising them about the delay.

Honestly, the first thing I said to my husband when he mentioned that he got an email was, "I feel happy! But also guilty!" I just hope this means good news is on its way for you as well!
