Hey everyone - I called today as well - the OWP and sponsorship applications were both visible on my profile - the agent said that the OWP had still not been issued but that she couldn't see any notes or reason for it not be accepted. She has sent a note to the office for an update but mainly said that I should just wait. There seems to be a few of us in the same boat and there is no logical reason that our OWP's won't turn up eventually like they did for everyone else. I'm sure that before we know it we'll be laughing with tears of relief with beers, tea or lemonade!

Youre right - it does seem that there are a bunch of us in the same boat. everything appears to be fine in their system but they just havent done the needful. Cant wait for the tears of joy!

Im hoping some one could help me out, I sent my application without a police check because it was still being processed, I got the police check in october and I didnt send it right away because I didnt have a UCI number, is it true that they expire after 3 months even if I havent left Canada? I just got AOR so should I send the police check with my UCI and file number now?

They no longer expire after 3 months, but must simply be issued after the last time you were in that country.

Yes, if you now have an application number and UCI number, you should make a copy of it (just in case) and send them the original. Make sure to get delivery confirmation!

Hi, i hope someone can answer my question, i have 2 dependents outside canada one is 17 years old. They are non accompanying this time . What will be the effect to my 17 yr old daughter ? I will send my application this week thats why i want to ask, am i or still can sponsor her later years after PR granted? TIA

I got a medical exam requirement email today. (handed in on 30 July, AOR on 22 Oct, expecting OWP)

Really confused! Is this for my OWP ? seems no way it's for PR...

Did you send the OWP application without the medical? If they asked for it, hopefully they are starting to process the OWP. All the best!

That is strange! You might want to call CIC and find out whats happening.

You never know...it might be for the PR even! Good luck - you might be one of the lucky ones

Update: Called CIC. The agent confirmed that all paperwork was in place and 4 months have passed so the AOR and OWP should be processed. He was going to flag it and let the backoffice people know. How long will it take - he didnt know and couldnt predict either.

Its just a wait game from this point; will call again in 2 weeks if nothing comes through.

I wanted to share my story with you since we are same date.

CIC received my application with my open work permit application along on 31st, July, 2015.
CIC sent AOR on 27th, October, 2015.
CIC received my medical result on 27th, October, 2015 according to my Ecas.

I have not heard anything for my open work permit since this Monday (1st, December, 2015).
Reached out exact 4 months mark!

Someone from Facebook page gave me an advice to call CIC to confirm your open work permit.
So I called CIC yesterday (2nd, December, 2015) to confirm my open work permit.

A very friendly agent looked at the my application, and told your open work permit have been approved but we didn't print out the paper yet. it will take a few days to print out. So You will receive your open work permit within a few weeks.

From what I know is all July applicants already received their AOR.
I am not sure why did not get yours... It has been a month since I received my first AOR from CIC.

You should have received your first AOR at least a month ago (November, 2015).
It is so weird...

I hope you get it your AOR soon!

No news about my Work Permit yet, Everyday I open the mailbox hoping for something, but nothing yet. will wait until next week when the "4 months of waiting" come to an end and I'll call them.

In the other hand, I'm finally able to access on ECAS and see my PR application is there. I've been checking the website almost everyday, so it took about a month since they sent my AOR until I was able to see anything on the ECAS.

I wouldn't worry too much about not getting AOR as not everyone receives it. My app was received beginning of July and I still haven't received AOR. However they have received my medical results and I got my OWP in September.

You should call CIC and request your AOR. Otherwise, You cannot able to access Ecas.
Some applicants from 2014 they were not received their AOR and requested their AOR later on to access their Ecas.

You may able to access your Ecas with your UCI Number.
I have a question for you. Have you tried to log-in with your UCI Number?
It will be ok if you were able to log-in with your UCI number.

For my case I was not able to access my Ecas with my UCI Number and my sponsor UCI Number.
Later I have received my first AOR then tried to log-in with my UCI Number as well as my sponsor UCI Number, then it worked well!

I finally felt relieved.

You have to see any update on your application somehow.

I have been able to log into ECAS since I received my OWP. The UCI on that lets me see my ECAS updates
