Question: I sent in my OWP in the same envelope with additional documents they required on my case. I was given a deadline which is 24/3/2015. Does anyone know if they open the envelope at arrival time Or do they wait until deadline is finished? I d like to know if they are already aware of my OWP or not...

My wife just received her open work permit, however the date of issue and expire is the exact same date. Which means it's not valid. Any suggestions?

PR application sent March 3, 2014
AOR received: August 3, 2014
Application in progress: August 27, 2014

OWP application sent: December 30, 2014
OWP Received: March 11, 2015
Woa, you are first I heard who received the OWP under the new pilot! I wish I could congratulate... When does your passport expire? That's the only thing I can think of, CIC gives this OWP for 2 years or for the time your passport is valid, whichever comes first.
Maybe it's just a typo... Have your tried the call centre?

I beleive my PR application was opened (application sent January 10th, 2015) they did receive the OWP as well but was returned yesterday, this is the letter I got:

Please be advised that the only temporary resident application this office processes is the Application to change conditions or extend your stay in canada as a worker (IMM 5710), if submitted in conjunction with an application for PR made under the spouse or common Law partner in canada class. This letter came from Mississauga.
So just to explain, we did send the PR spousal application and OWP together arounnd Jan 10/2015 to the mississauga office.
We were also waiting for his visitor visa to be extended (which was sent Nov 14/2015) to Vegreville. So when I sent the OWP i explained that we were waiting for the Visa extension (he did receive the visa extension yesterday as well and got an extension for 1 yr.

So now I don't know where to send this freggin OWP anymore. Does anyone have any advice or similiar situation?

They will most likely open it, but it can take a long time till they process it and attach to your file. Hopefully they will follow the chronological order of the OWPs.

The whole OWP package was returned? Did you follow all the instructions and did you send the IMM 5710 along with the necessary documents? If so, I have no idea what happened. If anything was returned I would follow the instructions for those who already sent a PR and would like to attach an OWP.
But it still weird...
Here are the instructions, just to be clear:

yes I did send all the proper docs. So should I now re do the OWP application and put the proper dates in then (last time I did it my husband was waiting to hear back regarding Visa extension) we now have that was extended for another year.
Should I ass the same receipt of payment?
I really hope this does not push back my processing times, becasue I think this was their mstake.

thx

These numbers are thanks to the only dip in processing times we've seen since last March.

It's notable that the last dip was around this time of year... hopefully that's just coincidence.
Looks like my optimism was not merited.
CiC has gone back to processing 3 days per week.

Yes. My wife received the owp under the pilot program. I contacted CIC and it was an error. They are going to correct it and issue it again although it can take up to 90 days for us to get it again. I contacted my MP and he's going to look into this and see if he can get it issued faster. My wife's passport doesn't expire until 2024.

Just a stupid error on their part. Mist not be paying attention when putting the expiry. Put the same as issue date Absurd.

Looking over the graphs, it appears that next week we will again be again seeing the new longest processing time for AIP. Two weeks ago it was 527, and we dropped to 520 last week, but we're up to 524 again today.
I thought it'd be interesting to look at where we were one year ago today.

March 13, 2014: Average processing time for AIP: 261 days (today: 524)

Last year, on March 24, CIC took a 3 month vacation. Hopefully they're not planning on doing the same thing now.

what's interesting is this 3 month vacation from inland coincides with the 3 month of fast tracking of outland applications. perhaps they are related and show the cyclical nature of both processes. of course, only time will tell if this is true or not.
