Those numbers don't match up with the ones in their data release - I'm confused
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/statistics/data-release/2014-Q2/index.asp

Your link shows 79,700 for end of year 2013 total. and 2014 year to date at 35377 with 3 months to go. So it appears that the 45000-48000 target is still within the realistic goals.

The question is this. Is the drop in total processed applications from 79,700 for 2013 down to 35377 ytd (no way the last 3 months is going to jump from 35377 back up to 80,000), is due to reduced numbers of spousal applications submitted from 2013 to 2014 or is it due to reduced staff / resources.

Ecas no working for me when I try to login today. It was fine before. Anybody got same problem? ???

Hopefully that triggers some works being done to your file. Are you a March 2014 applicant? Did you try to login using both applicant and sponsor UCI?

Thank you for providing the link where to find it (more like directions where to find it). Now that wasn't so hard was it?

I even post a link so others can click on it.

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/publications/rpp/2014-2015/#a2.2.1.1

I see that it says targets of 45000-48000 by each calendar year. I also notice that the staff numbers are dropping from 249 to 235. It means each staff member would have to handle 180 applications per year. (45000 / 249) That translates to 15 applications per month or 1 application every 2 days. I got to say that is rather low number. I would have expected more applications per staff.

At the same time, it says targets, not capped quota. There is nothing to say they are not prevented from going above 48,000 either. But I am disappointed in the low target numbers though.

Is there really 249 "officers"? or is this number just an indication of the total number of employees at CIC?

If you scroll up and down the page after clicking on link, you will see different assigned numbers for different departments.

424 assigned for family and discretionary immigration. 255 assigned for temporary foreign workers, 96 assigned for international students, etc etc etc.

So 249 is not the total employee at CiC. Just the number of employees assigned to handle spouses/partner and children applications.

I am really curious to find out how many "officers" are actually working on Inland applications.
To me, it seems like there is less than 20... :'( :-[
Assuming there are 20 officers and 48,000 applications in 2014, it translates to 2400 applications per year per officer = 200 applications per month = 10 applications per day per officer.

Do you think it's a good idea to put the officer initial on the spreadsheet so that we can kind of get the idea how many officers there are?
Or would this be a confidential info we shouldn't share?

While it sounds like a good idea, the problem is how do you even know which officer or name of officer that looks at your file. The 3 letters from CiC has 2 difference initials of officer. DPK/H and CVB/D.

I think it's stated on the SA and AIP letter (email)..."officer XXX"

As I posted earlier, I have 2 different officers looking the the file. That would mean you could have more officers handling your file besides the 2 mentioned.

Curious as to what the /D and /H means after their initials.

What are those 3 letters? Sponsor Approval, AIP and DM?
If so, I guess that's even better to distinguish the ones who work on AIP and who work on DM. No?

We got the SA email and AIP email from the same officer. "Officer BS". When I first saw the initial, I thought they were joking with us.."BuxxShxx" :P :P :P

The spousal approval and AIP was signed DPK. Both letters were sent out minutes apart. So it may be safe to assume the same officer wrote both letters same time.

The landing letter was signed CVB. All of them has Case Processing Centre Vegreville below their names.

Has anyone received their OWP recently? Anyone who applied in Aug or is everyone still waiting? There is not much on the spreadsheet. When my husband called, they told him two weeks, but I'm trying to see if that is accurate.
Hi AchangkengCrawford, Nothing yet. Still waiting for OWP, I am Aug. 21 applicant got my AIP last Nov. 20th. I spoke with one of the agent the day we received the SA and AIP. The guy agent look into my files and said that they haven't sent it yet. And today, called cic again, this time i spoke with a lady agent, and still my OWP haven't sent yet. :( she said, she will make a phone call on her behalf to know them that i got the AIP and to ask them to send the OWP right away. I'm just hoping she'll do it. Coz' she sounds like she's in a hurry.
