Anyone from aug 1 to 10 applicants here who receive their OWP ?

We received the OWP last friday Oct 24th! AIP was on Oct 6th. So not too bad timing wise.

Hmm, so why do folks post App. Filed dates on the side of their comments (which I can't figure out how to do by the way)?
Is this just to flaunt CIC's incompetence? So the files sit in a pile in the mail room, for more than a month in most cases, and are not marked as received until a file clerk gets around to it? I guess my time may still come soon, if the posted times are to be believed. I am hoping good things for all those who are waiting, esp. the before Aug. 17 folks that have not posted their good news yet. Do you think they have moved beyond Aug 17 since they always post 2 days after the date of the update?

Someday I would like a tour of the whole process, the real tour, where the applications are received, who picks them up, how they are distributed to CIC employees, what their process/checklist is for approval (especially on the more arbitrary or subjective things) and who else has to see the file, who sends the emails, posts the updates, all of it. It would be a harrowing tour, fit for Halloween. Or do we already know the worst of it with lost papers, random approval and processing schedule, AIPs that are made but not told to the applicants, DM's that are MIA...

In most cases the delivery date and the date when the app is received according to CIC is the same. I have seen a couple cases when CIC messed up something, I have no idea what, but than they date counts.
It would be definitely interesting to take a look at how they work, LOL, we would probably cry)

Congrats for people who received AIP or DM these days.

I envy you guys.

I originally submitted my PR application in 2012.

My application was refused due to my criminal record.
- Even though it wasn't illegal in Canada, I was inadmissible and I got a letter that I was indictable. I can see a lot of indictable offense on Craigslist everyday then.............................

Now I re-submitted a new PR application 2 weeks ago.

While I was waiting for my rehabilitation, I met "bartjones" from this forum in person - we live nearby.
He gave me some good advice when I didn't know what to do.

I write a small note to give the big help back to him because I contacted him a couple of days ago to inform my PR situation.
I realized he opened a lawyer office.

He' has been trying to help immigrants like me on this forum.
- When I got advice, he didn't have an office. He was a sponsor and spouse of an immigrant.
Typical lawyers don't do this and don't understand fully about immigrants' frustration.

I hope it's a good "Thank You" letter for him.

Must have been sweet to apply in July 2012. You'd expect a 14 month wait and actually wait only 6 months!

Well if nothing else, my GCMS notes are due on Nov.7th...this Friday. If we don't have AIP by then, should at least get SOME info off that. Hopefully.... ???
