hi woodyc, you must file your application outside Canada . Inland application can't be that fast.
I do think he filed inland, he was just super lucky and received AIP when all the people started getting theirs processing super fast before it slowed down in February. Oh, how I miss those days! A month worth of processing done every week! It was definitely an exciting time, and everyone was so positive!

Also, you can't get OWP with outland application, and he has received his. :)

Sad news, but expected...haven't heard any news from ortom or nurse2012 so they still haven't gotten theirs and they are July 30th applicants. Guess we just have to hope for tons of good news next week!

Thanks for the link, but I don't see anything about a backlog in there. Is this the correct link?

Nothing related to the backlog in citizenship and inland. Plus, I don't expect this guy to have a heart for immigrants. He is a super star in Conservatives government.

You right guys.
I got confused in here. I recently read statement by either the minister or one of his deputies, dont have the source at this moment, stating that CIC processed 8% of the backlogs of citizenship application and their time frame was from Feb to August.

Do you think it's a good idea to write to them from a personal email address? No chances of becoming flagged or something??
Or should our canadian citizen spouses do it?

By the way, I'm on my 18th month and no DM yet...

If you guys want to send complaint emails to government, I recommend these recipients. Put minister @ cic.gc.ca and david.manicom @ cic.gc.ca in the "To" field and the rest as "BCC" (hidden). I think at this stage we all have to be together in doing this. Repeatedly. Until changes are made. We have nothing to lose, to believe in now.

Mr. David Manicom is the manager of Inland Sponsorship operation.

I dont think we should be thinking too much. We've been through so much misery from them anyway. 18 mths without response will definitely make an appealing case for them to hear.

This is slightly distressing for those of us pregnant or sponsors with pregnant spouses still in limbo:

WoodyC was already had AIP when applying for OWP. That's standard processing time. WoodyC was the one lucky person who got their AIP early during the good old days of super speed processing.

Hi All,

For those that are pregnant but does not have health insurance in Ontario, there is a place in Toronto called Planned Parenthood Toronto that can help with all the checkups and baby delivery for no charges.

The website is ppt.on.ca.

Just call them and ask for an appointment.

Good lucks!

ven if someone is NOT in toronto, there still may be a planned parenthood in their area. Planned Parenthood is a huge organization that is well known in North America for helping pregnant women in need for minimal or no cost. I wouldn't be surprised if every major city has a location.
